Help-Portrait Wordwide

We have only just become aware of but now that we are, we fully intend to take an active part next year.

Help-Portrait was founded by celebrity photographer Jeremy Cowart and Kyle Chowning in 2008. Their mission is to empower photographers, hairstylists and makeup artists to use their skills, tools and expertise to give back to their local community.

Each December, photographers, hairstylists and makeup artists all around the world will find people in need, take their picture, print their picture and then deliver it—free of charge.

Help-Portrait is about GIVING the pictures, not taking them. These portraits aren’t for a portfolio, website, or sale. It’s about giving people who otherwise couldn’t afford photography, a chance to capture a moment, a memory…and a whole lot more.

This all sounds to me like an excellent way for me as a photographer to give back to my local community.

I found some of the images captured by the professional's already involved with this inspiring. You can view them for yourself here.

Those of you that know us well, will already be aware that as a business we actively seek out opportunities within our local community to help with various charities and causes and while its obviously not so good for the old bank balance having an opportunity to help out local charities and organisations is something we will continue to do.

This is a video provided by Help Portrait which offers some more detail around the programme.
