Glad to get back to some normality. It’s been a busy couple of weeks. For the past couple of weeks it’s been meeting after meeting with couple’s interested in booking us for their wedding photography, meetings with other photographers and we have also made arrangements to cover a local charity event in aid of the Friends of the Cancer Centre Belfast.
Meeting couples for the first time can be a little awkward. I think they come to us expecting a hard sell, which we simply don’t do. This is also the reason we don’t do wedding fayre’s. We prefer a much more relaxed approach. You can come to us and have a coffee and a chat about your wedding day or if you prefer we can come to you. We provide a free wedding photography consultation for every couple.
Meeting with other photographers is always interesting as no two photographers are the same, everyone has different styles and a different ways of doing things. During last week’s meeting I met with a well-known local photographer who has an established business based in Belfast and who is commissioned by global clothing brands to shoot advertising campaigns. On the flip side of the coin there was also a former professional photographer who had been made redundant from a small local newspaper and who is in the process of setting up his own photography business. It was really interesting to hear their opinions on the photography industry and there plans for the futures of their businesses especially as their businesses are so different from my own.
We were also contacted by a local bridal clothing company Uber Bridal who have arranged a fashion show at the Belfast Loughshore Hotel in Carrickfergus on the 27th of March with the proceeds going to a local charity, Friends of the Cancer Centre Belfast. Ash at Uber Bridal has asked us to come long as there official photographer for the evening and we were delighted to accept. If you would like to attend you can purchase tickets directly from Uber Bridal or the Belfast Loughshore Hotel.
