Stacey and Ryan celebrated their wedding on the 27th of June at the historic Guildhall in L/Derry, a beautiful venue rich with character and charm. Their special day continued with their wedding reception held at the The Waterfoot Hotel, where family and friends gathered to share in the celebrations.

It wasn’t all plain sailing in the lead-up to Stacey and Ryan’s wedding, as they faced the challenge of having to change their reception venue quite close to the wedding date. Despite the unexpected stress and last minute adjustments, they remained focused and determined to savour and enjoy their special day as much as possible.

We met up with Stacey and her bridesmaids at her mum and dad’s lovely home on the morning of the wedding to capture all the special and heartfelt moments of getting ready. Stacey and the rest of the girls were great craic throughout the entire morning, sharing laughter and joy, and the time just flew past. Ryan and the boys we met up with on arriving at the Guildhall.

This was our first visit to the historic Guildhall. Originally built in the 1880s by The Honourable The Irish Society. With its neo-Gothic design, stained glass windows, and history dripping from every corner, the Guildhall felt more like a castle than a town hall. We love working in new places so have been looking forward to this one for some time and we weren’t disappointed. Ryan was as chilled out as you like with not a sign of any worries about the big day ahead and just excited to get married to Stacey.

The local registrar officiated the marriage ceremony for Stacey and Ryan, but they made the occasion even more special by incorporating some personal touches. They included meaningful readings and took the time to read their own heartfelt wedding vows aloud. The historic surroundings further enhanced the sense of grandeur, creating a truly memorable and beautiful atmosphere.

Unfortunately the weather was pretty bad with heavy rain on and off all day including as we left the Guildhall. Stacey and Ryan wanted a few photos inside the Guildhall anyway so we made our way back inside to grab a few photos with the guys while we waited out the worst of the rain. Once the rain had eased off a little, we went to Derry’s walls and then made our way to explore the charming craft village nearby.

After finishing up with Stacey and Ryan’s beautiful bridal portraits, we rejoined the rest of the wedding party at The Waterfoot Hotel. Stacey and Ryan’s adorable Jack Russell, Ossie, made a guest appearance at the hotel, bringing smiles to everyone’s faces.

We had just enough time in between the heavy rain showers to quickly gather and capture a few photos with everyone before the guys headed inside to relax and chill out ahead of the speeches. All the speeches went smoothly and were very well received, with Stacey’s dad’s speech standing out in particular, it was absolutely hilarious and had everyone laughing throughout.

After dinner, we organized a lively confetti run with the guys. We have never witnessed so much confetti being thrown at a wedding before, these guys truly went all out. They made sure to avoid the common mistake of not having enough confetti to go around, creating a vibrant and unforgettable moment for everyone involved.

Back inside it was time for the dancing. After they shared their first dance Stacey did a traditional dance with her Dad, followed by Ryan and his mum before everyone else hit up the dancefloor to get the party properly started.
