Derry wedding photographers who keep it real and relaxed
We photograph weddings in Derry/Londonderry and across the North West, and we have worked at some of the best venues in the area. When we arrive at Beech Hill Country House, the Guildhall or Drenagh Estate, we already know the grounds, the light at different times of day and the quiet corners that make the best photographs. That local knowledge means you never have to worry about where to stand or what to do.
You will spend more time with your photographer than with almost anyone else on the day, so personality matters. We keep things calm and unposed, and we make you feel at ease, because that is when natural, relaxed photographs happen. Of you, your family and your friends.
We are a husband and wife team and we only work together, so every couple has two photographers and nothing is missed.
Natural photographs, two photographers, no stiff posing.

Husband and wife team
Two photographers, one team who know each other inside out
We are Tommy and Laurene, and we have photographed weddings together since 2014. After all these years we can read each other across a room without saying a word, which means two perspectives on your Derry wedding and a team that works as one.
The two people you chat to when you first get in touch are the two people who turn up on your wedding day. Whether you are marrying at Beech Hill Country House, the Guildhall or Drenagh Estate, there is never a second shooter you have never heard of, and never a handover to someone else.
We photograph your getting ready, your first look at each other and your portraits, always in a natural, unposed way.
While one of us is with you, the other is watching your partner's reaction, your parents and your guests, which is where so many of the best moments happen.
Two views of the same moment, from the aisle to the speeches, means a fuller story of your day when your gallery arrives.
How we spend your day
Mostly quietly watching
Most of your day is spent capturing it as it happens, and only a small part is spent borrowing you away from your guests. Here is roughly how we split a full day of documentary wedding photography.
From the morning prep to the dancing, no staging, no interrupting and no asking anyone to do that hug again. Two of us means we catch the moments you see and plenty of the ones you miss.
The only time we borrow you. Thirty minutes, a short walk and a bit of good light is all it takes, with no stiff posing, just the two of you getting a breather together.
Quick, organised and painless. We keep group photos moving so everyone important is in the gallery and back with the guests before they know it.
What our couples say
Kind words from Derry area couples
What couples say about having Tommy and Laurene photograph their wedding day at the Guildhall, Beech Hill Country House and Drenagh Estate.
We chose Pure Photo NI for our wedding in June and we could not be happier . Tommy and Laurene were absolutely fantastic throughout the day/night, and very helpful in the build up to our special day. We were able to organise some ideas in advance of the day, and both Tommy and Laurene ensured we got everything we wanted at each stage. They helped us keep on track, suggested plenty of ideas, and we have come away with such a variety of photos and memories that we love. Importantly, they are both great craic and a pair of legends also! We are very grateful and would highly recommend Pure Photo NI.
I 100% recommend Pure Photo N.I. The photos were amazing. They were amazing to work with, they were friendly, great at communicating throughout the whole process, and the only regret I had at the wedding was that I didn’t get them to stay the whole night! You definitely can’t go wrong with Pure Photo N.I.
Where to start, firstly we are delighted with our wedding photos they are amazing and really captured our day. I’m not one who enjoys getting my photo taken in fact I was even considering not having a photographer at the wedding however I’m so happy I did and even more delighted that we chose Pure Photo NI. Tommy & Laurene made us feel so relaxed and comfortable when getting the photos done. It was as if we had know them a life time. You made getting photos taken an enjoyable experience which was something I never could have imagined.

Frequently asked questions
Your Derry wedding photography questions answered
The things couples ask us most about wedding photography in Derry. If yours is not here, send us a message or have a look at our wedding FAQ.
How much does a Derry wedding photographer cost?
Our wedding collections start at £1,375 for half day coverage and go up to £2,675 for a full day with albums and an engagement session, and both Tommy and Laurene photograph every wedding. You can see exactly what is in each one in the packages above or on our pricing page. If you would like a quote for your date, message us on WhatsApp.
Which Derry wedding venues do you work at?
We have photographed weddings at Beech Hill Country House, the Guildhall and Drenagh Estate. Nearby we have also worked at Roe Valley Resort and Ballyscullion Park. We love working at new venues too, so wherever you choose, we would be happy to photograph it.
Where are the best places for wedding photos in Derry?
It depends on your ceremony and your timings. The old stone walls and the Guildhall give you a city backdrop, the Craft Village and the street murals add some fun, Beech Hill has woodland, a lake and walled gardens, and Drenagh has the Moon Garden and the Italian garden. Some locations need permission, so we talk it through with you in advance.
Do you photograph weddings in Derry and Londonderry?
Yes, we cover both, because it is the same city and we are happy to say whichever name you prefer. We photograph weddings in the city, in the surrounding countryside and across the North West, so wherever you are getting married, get in touch and tell us your date.
Do I need two photographers for my Derry wedding?
You do not have to choose, because both Tommy and Laurene photograph every wedding. While one of us photographs you, the other is watching your partner's reaction and your guests. Those are the moments couples treasure most, and they are only possible with two photographers.
Do you travel to Derry?
Yes. We photograph weddings all over Northern Ireland and Ireland, including Derry and the North West, and there is no extra travel charge for weddings within Northern Ireland. A travel supplement applies to venues outside Northern Ireland.
What happens if it rains on our wedding day?
Rain is part of life in Northern Ireland, so we always plan for it. Many of our favourite photographs were taken under cloud, and we will help you find sheltered spots at your venue for portraits, whatever the weather does.
How far in advance should I book?
As soon as your date is confirmed. Popular dates, especially Fridays and Saturdays in summer, can fill up a long way in advance, though we do sometimes have last minute availability. Send us a quick message on WhatsApp and we will tell you straight away if we are free.
Will you photograph a small or micro wedding in Derry?
Absolutely. We love small weddings, from a ceremony with just the two of you and two witnesses to a day with close family. Have a look at our micro wedding packages.
When will we get our photographs?
Your gallery is delivered within six weeks of your wedding, with high resolution downloads and a print shop. If you cannot wait, our fast edit add on guarantees your photos within 10 days for an extra £400.
