Your wedding day is a celebration of love and togetherness and as your photographers, our role is to capture every precious moment as it unfolds. If you have questions about how we work, you're not alone. Below you'll find answers to the questions we're asked most often.

Our style and where we work

What style of photography do you specialise in for weddings?

We specialise in a blend of documentary and artistic styles. We love capturing candid moments that reflect the raw real atmosphere of every wedding, while also creating stunning portraits that showcase the beauty of the couple, the venue and all the details that make up the wedding day. We always aim to ensure that everything is stress free when it comes to your wedding photography. We want you to have the best day of your lives and we want to capture all the smiles, laughter and tears that brings.

Where are you based and what areas do you cover?

We are based in Lisburn, just outside of Belfast in Northern Ireland. We will go anywhere we are invited. We cover all of Northern Ireland as standard, including Belfast, the North Coast, the Mourne Mountains, and everywhere in between. We have also photographed weddings in the Republic of Ireland and would be happy to travel to to the UK mainland. Do you have insurance?

Yes, we have public liability insurance. Some venues in Northern Ireland require photographers to provide proof of this before the wedding, so if yours does, just let us know and we can send the documentation across directly.

Do you offer engagement sessions?

Yes, we offer engagement sessions. It's a great way for us to get to know each other better, and for you to get comfortable in front of the camera before the big day. You can find further details here. Engagement Photography Sessions

Do you shoot video too, or can you recommend videographers?

We focus entirely on photography it's what we do best and it’s what we love. However, over the years we've built great working relationships with a number of talented videographers in Northern Ireland. We're happy to point you in the right direction based on your style and budget. Just ask us when we chat!

Booking your date and coverage

Can you hold provisional wedding dates?

Unfortunately due to the nature of the wedding industry with dates always being in scarce supply this isn’t something we can do. We work on a strict first come first served basis, Your date is confirmed once we have received your booking fee and you have signed a contract with us.

How long will you stay at our wedding?

This will depend on the package option you choose. We have a range of different options available including half and full day coverage as well as options for micro weddings and elopements.

Do you charge extra for travel?

We don't charge travel fees for weddings within Northern Ireland, including Belfast, Lisburn, and the North Coast etc. For weddings in the Republic of Ireland or further afield, an additional fee for mileage and accommodation, if required will apply. We’ll do our best to keep these expenses to a minimum.

How many photographers will there be?

We are a husband and wife team and we much prefer working together, as that provides the best level of coverage to our couples. All of our wedding photography package options include both of us on the day. However we can also offer the option to include just one photographer if you prefer, just contact us for a bespoke quotation.

Do you provide coverage of both the bride and the groom getting ready?

All of our wedding photography packages include coverage for the bride getting ready. We can also provide coverage for the groom getting ready if both are getting ready from the same location or a short distance from each other. Please note though that we work together as a team. If groom prep is required then we would need to leave the bride earlier so to allow time to get to the groom. You can find further details here. For same sex weddings this means that if you are not getting ready from the same location you may need to decide which of you has coverage for getting ready. Alternatively we can look into hiring another photographer to provide coverage of your partner getting ready, however this would be at additional cost and would be dependent on other photographers availability.

On your wedding day

What if I'm not comfortable in front of the camera?

We have been working together since 2014 and have photographed hundreds of weddings together. In our experience most people while they will happily pose for selfies feel a little nervous about being photographed by someone else. You aren’t on your own, and this is totally normal. We use our experience to put you at ease, keeping everything natural and fun. By the time we are finished you will just feel like you have spent some time with some old friends and they took some photos.

What is a first look and is it included?

A first look is when the couple sees each other for the first time on their wedding day before the ceremony. It's a personal choice whether or not to do a first look, but it can help ease nerves and provide a special moment between the couple. We are always happy to include a first look with our couples if that is something they want to do. You can find further details on first look here. First Look

What happens if it rains on our wedding day?

Living in Northern Ireland, we are experts at working with the "liquid sunshine!" Rain doesn’t ruin wedding photos, it can actually add a beautiful, romantic atmosphere.

As a husband and wife team, we are always prepared for the NI weather:

• Location Scouting: We always scout your venue for the best indoor locations with natural light (like grand staircases, large windows, or arched doorways) so we can still get stunning portraits without getting you wet.

• The "Clear Umbrella" Kit: We always carry clear umbrellas in our car. These look fantastic in photos and let the light through while keeping you perfectly dry.

• Flexibility: We keep a close eye on the weather. If there’s a break in the clouds, we’ll whisk you out for 5–10 minutes to get those outdoor shots you’ve dreamed of.

Your photographs and albums

Do you back up the photos?

Absolutely! Your images are far too important to leave to chance. Both of us shoot with cameras that have dual memory card slots, meaning every photo is written to two cards simultaneously as we shoot. As soon as we get home from your wedding, we back everything up to multiple hard drives. Your images are never in one place at any point.

How many images will I receive?

The number of images can vary depending on the length of coverage and the size of your wedding. We will deliver all of the best images from your day, every meaningful moment, big and small with unflattering frames removed. There is no set quantity as every wedding is different, but you will never feel short-changed. 

How will I receive my photographs?

We will provide you with a password protected online gallery that will allow you to both download and view all of your edited images. When will I receive them?

Typically, we will deliver your wedding gallery 4 to 6 weeks after your wedding. This may be slightly longer in peak wedding season (May to September) and quicker during other parts of the year. If you need or would prefer to receive your wedding gallery with a guaranteed turnaround time of just 10 days, we also offer a fast edit add on at an additional cost of £400.

What about copyright?

All images we deliver are licensed for your personal use, prints, albums, social media, sharing with family and friends. The copyright itself remains with us as the photographers, which is standard practice across the industry.

If a venue, vendor, or business wants to use your images commercially (online or in print), they'll need to come to us for permission first. Find out more about image usage rights here.

What about prints and wall art?

Every gallery we supply to our clients includes access to an online shop so that you can easily order prints and wall art provided by the U.K’s best professional print labs, They do not usually offer their products to the general public, so this is a great way of getting access to professional quality prints and wall art. You can of course choose to use an alternative printing company or create prints yourself.

Do I have to decide on an album right now?

If you decide to book our Moments or Story wedding photography packages, you can decide on purchasing an album after you have received your images. Our forever and legacy packages both include albums.

When will I receive my storybook wedding album?

Albums are usually delivered within 8 weeks of you confirming your order

Payment and booking

How much is the booking fee and when do we pay our balance?

All four of our wedding photography package options have a £400 non refundable booking fee cost. The remaining balance for your chosen package option would be due for payment 4 weeks before the date of your wedding.

What payment options are available?

Bank transfer is our preferred payment option, however we can also accept payment by card if you prefer, just let us know.

How do I make a booking?

We use an automated online booking system. Send us a message via the contact us section of our website or drop us an email to info@purephotoni.com with all the details and we will add your information to our online booking system and forward you all the details needed to confirm your booking.
