Tommy + Laurene
Hi, we're Tommy and Laurene, a husband and wife team based in Lisburn who genuinely love what we do. We've spent years photographing weddings all across Northern Ireland, from the North Coast to working as wedding photographers in Belfast, always in a way that feels relaxed and true to each couple.
Photography has been part of both our lives since we were kids, and that love of photography hasn't faded one bit since turning it into a full-time career. If anything, it's grown. We put everything into every wedding we shoot, and we like to think that shows in the images we bring home.
We built our wee photography business on one simple idea, that your wedding photos should feel like you. Not stiff or posed, just real, emotional, and full of the moments you'll actually want to remember.
Who We Are
Outside of work, you'll usually find us on some kind of family adventure, piling into the car with our two daughters, Megan and Abbie, and heading to the North Coast, the Mourne Mountains, or the Fermanagh Lakelands. We're also never far from our Jack Russell Archie and our Staffy pup Hope, who keeps us all on our toes.

The Dark Hedges in Ballymoney is always one of our favourite places to stop at when visiting the North Coast.

The Mourne Mountains is also somewhere we like to visit. Always the chance for some unique photographs here.
Our camera’s always comes with us, wherever we go. It's something we've always done naturally, and it's been lovely watching our girls pick up the same habit. For us, photography isn't something that stays at work, it's just part of how we see the world.

What We Do
Our style of photography is relaxed and informal. We're not big on stiff poses or awkward line ups we'd much rather hang back and let things unfold naturally, stepping in to capture the laughter, the quiet moments, and the looks between you that you might not even remember happening.
That said, when it comes to your couple portraits and family shots, we'll give you just enough direction to make sure everything looks great without it ever feeling forced.

Why We Love Weddings and
Photographs of People
Being invited into one of the most important days of someone's life never gets old. The energy, the emotion, the chaos, we love all of it. And unlike most types of photography, a wedding day asks you to be a photojournalist, a portrait photographer, a landscape photographer, a product photographer and sometimes even a sports photographer, all before the dancing. That variety is something we genuinely thrive on.
Real Moments Matter…
And we feel it is important to document them.
There's also something unique about photographing people rather than places. A photo of a person tells a story, their personality, their relationships, the moment they're living in. We've seen our couples use their wedding photos to celebrate anniversaries, honour loved ones they've lost, and mark milestones they never expected. That kind of lasting meaning is what makes this work feel worthwhile.
Being asked to be part of that is something we don't take lightly.
How We Became Wedding Photographers
We didn’t know each other as kids, but we both started our photography journey the exact same way, with a Polaroid camera. That instant magic of pressing a button and watching a photo appear right in front of you hooked us both early, and honestly, it never really let go.
When we got together, we were that couple on holiday with a camera permanently attached. When we found out we were expecting our first daughter, things got more serious. We wanted to document everything, so we bought better cameras and quickly realised it wasn't the gear that made the difference, it was the skill. So we threw ourselves into learning, almost obsessively.
From our first ever wedding, we shot together.
We thought at the time that this was so creative. You live and learn. 😂
Tommy had been shooting model portfolios and commercial photography, when weddings came along completely by chance. A photographer he knew was stuck, their second shooter had dropped out days before a wedding and Tommy stepped in to help. He took to it immediately. Everything he'd been told about wedding photography being stressful and gruelling just didn't match his experience. He loved the energy of it, the variety, the fact that no two days were ever the same.
Laurene came along initially to help things run smoothly on the day. That arrangement lasted about five minutes before she was shooting too, and Pure Photo N.I became the husband and wife team it is today.
Nearly a decade and hundreds of weddings later, we're still just as excited as we were at the start.
