Husband and wife team

Belfast wedding photographers who keep it real and relaxed

We have photographed weddings across Belfast since 2014, at Titanic Hotel, The Merchant, Belfast Castle and Belfast City Hall, and in the Cathedral Quarter streets in between. We know how each venue works on the day and where the best light is, so you never have to worry about where to stand or what to do.

You will spend more time with your photographer than with almost anyone else on the day, so personality matters. We keep things calm and unposed, and we make you feel at ease, because that is when natural, relaxed photographs happen. Of you, your family and your friends.

We are a husband and wife team and we only work together, so every couple has two photographers and nothing is missed.

Natural photographs, two photographers, no stiff posing.

Where we photograph

Belfast wedding venues we photograph

Belfast is where we started. We have photographed weddings all across the city since 2014, from grand celebrations at The Merchant to quiet elopements in the Cathedral Quarter, and we know it well enough to find the light and the quiet corners no matter what the weather does. Knowing a venue well means we can anticipate the best light, the hidden corners and the perfect spots for portraits at any time of day.

The Grand Staircase, the Rotunda and the Council Chamber make a dramatic setting, and the gardens outside are beautiful in any weather. We photograph civil ceremonies here regularly.

What our couples say

Kind words from our Belfast couples

Don't just take our word for it. Here is what some of the couples we have had the privilege of photographing across Belfast and Northern Ireland have to say.

Tommy and Laurene captured our wedding day perfectly, our photographs were everything and more. Laurene fitted into the morning preparations like a friend. If you are considering Pure Photo as part of your wedding day, go for it. They are the best.

Mr. & Mrs. Devine

Wow, what can we say about Tommy and Laurene! They captured the most important day of our lives so perfectly. They made us laugh all throughout the day, made the posing light hearted and Laurene especially was the best help with my dress and veil! I would recommend them to anyone, they are absolutely fantastic at what they do!

Mr. & Mrs. Bruce

We had a wonderful experience with Pure Photo N.I. We really loved the quality and variety of photographs that Tommy and Laurene were able to capture for us on our wedding day. Across the planning, photography and delivery of our photographs, Pure Photo N.I were exceptionally professional, accommodating and a joy to work with.

Frequently asked questions

Your Belfast wedding photography questions answered

The things couples ask us most about wedding photography in Belfast. If yours is not here, send us a message or have a look at our wedding FAQ.

Where can our guests park for a Belfast City Hall wedding?

The Chichester Street and Donegall Square car parks are both a short walk from City Hall and tend to be the easiest options on the day. If you let us know your ceremony time we are happy to pass on a few suggestions to your guests so nobody is rushing in at the last minute.

Do you need a permit to photograph at Titanic Belfast?

The venue itself handles any permissions needed for photography inside as part of your booking with them, so this is one less thing for you to think about. We simply liaise with their team on the day to make sure we know where we can and cannot go.

What happens if it rains on our Belfast wedding day?

We always plan for it. Belfast has plenty of beautiful indoor backdrops, from the Titanic building's architecture to hotel interiors like the Merchant, so a wet day never has to mean flat photos. We also keep a shortlist of covered spots near most of the city's venues for a quick change of plan.

What is the best time of day for photos at Belfast Castle?

Late afternoon light on the slopes of Cave Hill is hard to beat, it catches the turrets beautifully and gives us soft, flattering light for your portraits. If your ceremony allows any flexibility on timing we are always happy to talk through what would work best for your day.

How long should we allow for photos in Belfast city centre?

For a full couple portrait session around spots like the Cathedral Quarter or the Grand Staircase we would suggest around 45 minutes to an hour. It never feels rushed, we just want enough time to move between a couple of locations without eating into your reception.

Can you photograph a civil ceremony at Belfast City Hall?

Yes, we photograph civil ceremonies at City Hall regularly and know the layout of the Council Chamber and the Rotunda well. We arrive early to check the light and find the best angle for your vows before your guests are even seated.

Do you photograph confetti exits in Belfast city centre?

We do, and they make for some of our favourite shots of the day. A few venues have their own rules on confetti so we always check in advance and let you know what is allowed before the day itself.

How far in advance should we book you for a Belfast wedding?

We only take on a select number of weddings each year, so popular Belfast dates in spring and summer can be booked out well over a year ahead. If you have a date in mind it is always worth checking with us sooner rather than later.
