Intimate wedding at home | Sarah + Fergal
Sarah & Fergal got married on the 3rd of April. Not only did they get ready and have their wedding ceremony at Sarah’s Mum & Dad’s beautiful home in Millisle, but they had their wedding reception there as well.
Have gotten used to and grown to love smaller more intimate weddings over the last couples of years because a lot of couples had no other option due to government lockdowns, we were really excited to photograph another one for a couple that chose a more intimate wedding because that was their dream wedding day. Sarah’s Mum & Dad’s home in Millisle proved to be the perfect venue. There were a few jokes made about how it was the most expensive wedding venue ever and that Sarah’s mum and dad had only bought their new home for the wedding.
Intimate Wedding Millisle
With only 5 guests but all of their furry friends there on the day Sarah & Fergal’s wedding was an amazing day that we were so happy to document and share with them.
We arrived to photograph Sarah & Fergal getting ready before the ceremony to be greeted with a full pack of very friendly and lovable dogs. Having 4 dogs of our own we were in our absolute element! Sarah & Fergal were still able to avoid each other all morning so that we could capture their first look before the ceremony.
The ceremony itself took place on the terrace at the back of the house and was performed by Humanist Celebrant E.J Havlin who did an amazing job of explaining how they first met and what brought them together, as well as sharing a few funny stories about them both. The ceremony ended with a traditional hand fastening.

After the ceremony and once the guys had time to chill out and enjoy a quick glass of champagne to celebrate, we made our way down the private path from Sarah’s mum and dads for a walk along the beach. We had such a good laugh with these two! Before too long we were joined by the rest of the wedding guests and all of our new furry friends.
Once back at the house everyone had a chance to relax and enjoy each other’s company before a personal chef arrived and started preparing one of the most beautiful looking meals we have ever seen at a wedding. Before dinner was served there was time for some relaxed and very funny speeches.
As we made our way home, we couldn’t help but think to ourselves, what an amazingly chilled out wedding day this was and about the advantages of having a more intimate wedding, like not having to stress over the wedding timeline and getting to spend some proper quality time with your nearest and dearest. While not having the big wedding day with hundreds of guests won’t be for every couple, we can see why intimate weddings are becoming more and more popular all the time.
