Photographers who know Breckenhill inside out

Breckenhill is one of the most private and characterful wedding venues in County Antrim, and one of our favourite places to spend a wedding day. We have photographed here across every season, in every space the estate has to offer, from the barns through to the gardens and woods. That kind of familiarity changes everything about how we work on your day.

We know how the stone walls of the Stone Barn hold the evening light, and when to bring you back to the Green Barn for softer, natural portraits. We know the pond and gardens give the most peaceful backdrop for quiet moments together, and we know exactly where the woodland paths open up to those wide views over the surrounding hills and Tildarg Dam.

The result is a wedding gallery that makes full use of everything Breckenhill has to offer, without you having to think about any of it. Still deciding on your venue? Have a look at our guide to the most popular wedding venues in Northern Ireland, which includes Breckenhill.

Relaxed, natural photography, planned around the light.

Photography at Breckenhill

Every corner of Breckenhill, captured

Breckenhill gives us more variety in a single venue than almost anywhere else in County Antrim. Here are the spaces we use on your wedding day and why each one matters.

Location 01

The Stone Barn

Restored in 2005, the Stone Barn is full of character, with solid stone walls that hold the evening light beautifully. It gives every image a warm, timeless quality and works just as well for an intimate gathering as it does for a full celebration.

Location 02

The Green Barn

Converted in 2015, the Green Barn is a light and versatile space that photographs beautifully at any time of day. It is one of our favourite spots for relaxed, natural portraits during the reception, when the room is full of movement and laughter.

Location 03

The Gardens and Pond

The landscaped gardens surrounding the house have become a real nature and wildlife haven, and the pond gives us calm, still reflections that make for some of the most peaceful portraits of the day. It is a quiet, private spot away from the main celebration.

Location 04

The Woods and Hills

Set in the hills, Breckenhill has extensive views across the surrounding County Antrim landscape, including Tildarg Dam. The woodland paths give us dappled light in summer, rich colour in autumn and a wild, atmospheric feel in winter, perfect for couples who want portraits with a real sense of place.

Real weddings at Breckenhill

View our work at Breckenhill

Every wedding at Breckenhill has its own feel, from outdoor ceremonies on the lawn to evenings in the barns and portraits out in the woods and hills. Each one is a full day, with the getting ready, the ceremony, the portraits around the estate and the party in the evening, all edited in the same natural, true to life style.

Every season

We have photographed at Breckenhill across every season, from dappled summer light in the woods to rich autumn colour and a wild, atmospheric winter.

A private venue

Breckenhill is a private, secluded venue and your wedding is the only event there on the day, so we can take our time with portraits across the grounds.

Every kind of weather

Between the Stone Barn and the Green Barn there is plenty of covered space, and soft, overcast light often gives us some of our favourite portraits.

Frequently asked questions

Your Breckenhill questions answered

The things couples ask us most about photography at Breckenhill. If yours is not here, send us a message, read our guide to the most popular wedding venues in Northern Ireland or have a look at our wedding FAQ.

Are you a recommended photographer at Breckenhill?

Yes. We are on the recommended photographer list at Breckenhill. The venue knows and trusts our work, and that relationship means we can plan your day around the estate rather than the other way around.

Is Breckenhill a private, exclusive use venue?

Yes. Breckenhill is a private, secluded venue and your wedding is the only event taking place there on the day. That privacy means we can take our time with portraits across the grounds without ever having to work around other guests or events.

Can we have an outdoor ceremony at Breckenhill?

Yes. Breckenhill offers outdoor ceremony options across its gardens and grounds as well as the two barns. We are happy to photograph either, and we will talk through which setting suits your plans and the time of year before the day.

How far in advance should we book?

Breckenhill has become one of the most sought after private venues in County Antrim, and our own availability is limited each year. We would recommend getting in touch as soon as your date is confirmed with the venue, particularly for summer Saturdays.

What happens if it rains on our wedding day at Breckenhill?

Between the Stone Barn and the Green Barn there is plenty of covered space to keep your day moving whatever the weather. We have photographed weddings in every kind of Northern Irish weather, and soft, overcast light often gives us some of our favourite portraits.

Can we bring our dog to our Breckenhill wedding?

Yes. Breckenhill is a pet friendly venue and we love including dogs in the day, whether that is carrying the rings or just joining you for a few portraits by the pond. Just let us know in advance so we can build it into the timeline.

Will you help guide the timeline for our Breckenhill wedding day?

Absolutely. Because we know the venue well, we can help you plan a realistic running order, from when to start bridal preparations to when the light will be best for portraits, so the day flows smoothly without you having to think about it.
