The advantages and disadvantages of Edenmore House

Every venue has good points and things to plan around. This is what we know from our wedding here and from the venue details we have found.

Advantages

  • Around 100 acres of mature grounds, with landscaped gardens, a terrace and a lake.
  • Tree lined drives and open lawns beside the golf course give plenty of variety for portraits.
  • Two suites for the wedding meal, one for up to 140 guests and one for up to 40, so smaller days fit too.
  • 13 bedrooms on site, including a bridal suite and a honeymoon suite.
  • On site parking, and the venue is about five minutes from Moira.

Disadvantages

  • The bedrooms sleep 30, so a larger guest list will need to stay elsewhere.
  • The larger suite is limited to 140 guests for the wedding meal.
  • It is a country setting, so plan transport for guests who are staying off site.
  • The venue has changed its name, so older photos and reviews online may say Edenmore Country Club or Edenmore Golf Club.

Photography

Edenmore House wedding photography

Edenmore gives you a lot to work with. There are long tree lined drives, open lawns beside the golf course, and gardens with a terrace and a lake, so portraits never have to look the same twice.

Because the grounds are so spread out, a little planning goes a long way. We walk the grounds with you and pick the spots that suit your timings and the light on the day.

  • Tree lined drives

Soft shade and a natural frame, and a lovely place for a relaxed walk together while the guests enjoy their drinks.

  • Lawns by the golf course

Wide open space with fairway views behind you, ideal for laughing, dancing and group photographs.

  • Gardens, terrace and lake

Plenty of variety for portraits close to the house, which helps on a day when the weather is changeable.
