Burrendale Hotel Wedding | Bethany + Andrew

Bethany & Andrew got married on the 2nd of September at Orangefield Presbyterian Church in Castlereagh. After the ceremony we stopped off at Tollymore Forest Park before making our way too the Burrendale Hotel in Newcastle for their wedding reception.

We first met Bethany & Andrew when we photographed their engagement session at Sir. Thomas & Lady Dixon Park in Belfast a while back. We knew we were in for a great day as Bethany & Andrew are such a lovely, friendly couple. Bethany is a photographer herself and it’s always nice for us when our couples are so invested and excited about us being their Northern Ireland wedding photographers. Bethany got ready from her Mum & Dad’s home in Dundonald, so we met up with her and the rest of the girls there on the morning of the wedding.

Once the girls were ready, we made our way to the ceremony to meet up with Andrew and his groomsmen. It’s tradition at this church for the groom to sign the bottom of the red carpet with his and the brides name and Andrew duly obliged. This was our second visit to this church, Bethany & Andrew found us after seeing photographs from another wedding we photographed there a while back. The Minister is always friendly and accommodating with photographers which is always nice. There was a few funny moments as the page boy and flower girl did what every young kid at a wedding does, their own thing!

After the ceremony we met up again with Bethany. Andrew and the bridal party at Tollymore Forest Park in Newcastle. We had very limited time due to a tight timeline and with the time needed to travel down from Belfast but all went well and we even managed to stick to the timeline. It is always great to be a Newcastle wedding photographer.

Once we arrived at the Burrendale Hotel we spent a little time grabbing some family photographs before everyone was called inside for the speeches. The speeches all went great, and as well as the normal speakers you get at every wedding, Andrew’s Mum said a few words as well. We loved seeing our photographs from Bethany & Andrew’s engagement session being used for things like the menu at the venue.

After dinner we got another little bit of time with Bethany & Andrew for a few photographs around the grounds at the Burrendale including a must have photograph for Andrew with the Mournes in the background. Earlier in the day when we arrived for the ceremony, we had noticed a model of a little cottage. As it turned out this was the last thing that Bethany’s grandfather had made before he sadly passed away and was there on the day to represent him and his importance to Bethany and her family. So before heading inside to photograph the first dance we grabbed another quick photograph of Bethany, her lovely grandmother and the little model cottage.
