Dufferin Hall Wedding | Courtney & Paul
On the 31st of August we photographed Courtney & Paul’s wedding. The ceremony took place at Delamont Country Park and they had their wedding reception at Dufferin Hall in Killyleagh.
Courtney and her bridesman Matthew had stayed at Dufferin Coaching Inn the night before so we met up with her there on the morning of the wedding. Major props to Matthew who worked away sorting out last minute bits and pieces for the wedding while we photographed Courtney getting ready. The bridesmaids and flower girls arrived a little later. Courtney & Paul had planned a marquee style wedding but at the very last minute where let down by the company they had chosen to provide the marquee. Now for most couples this would have been a huge problem and could have very well have had a negative impact on their wedding day. Not these two though!

As it proved impossible at such late notice to arrange for another marquee the guys decided on having an outdoor ceremony instead. In the end we think everyone who was there would agree that it all worked out for the best. The ceremony was beautiful and was held on the top of a hill at Delamont Country Park in the shadow of the impressive Strangford Stone. There are some incredible views form here and it made for a really unique wedding ceremony. There were some high winds but other than that the weather was great.
After the ceremony we got to spend a little time walking around Delamont with Courtney & Paul. We had a real laugh with these two, they are both very laid back and good fun. When Courtney first contacted us one of the first thing she told us about her and Paul’s wedding was that she wanted a photograph of her, in her wedding dress hurtling down the zip line at Delamont. Off course we were happy to oblige.

After grabbing a few photos with the bridal party, we made our way back to Killyleagh for the reception at Dufferin Hall. This place really is a hidden gem. The staff are incredibly friendly and the reception room looked amazing. Paul had decided long before the wedding that he wasn’t going to do a speech but somehow on the day found himself coerced into saying a few words by their family and friends and did very well.
After a lovely dinner we waited for the band to set so we could photograph the first dance but Courtney & Paul decided that a first dance wasn’t for them so we grabbed a quick photograph of them enjoying a quiet moment together instead.
