Engagement Photography at Antrim Castle Gardens | Emma + John

We recently met up with Emma and John for their engagement session at Antrim Castle Gardens. It took a little while to get this one organised with it being a busy period for both us and Emma and John, but thankfully we got there in the end.

We arrived at Antrim Castle Gardens early in the evening, excited to meet Emma and John for their engagement session. The sky was overcast and the air was damp from the rain earlier in the day, but we were determined to capture some beautiful moments for this lovely couple. As a wedding photographer in Northern Ireland, we all too well know that unpredictable weather, is just part of the job, and we are always ready to embrace it.

Emma and John arrived looking radiant and so in love, and with huge smiles despite the dreary weather. We started the session by using the beautifully sculpted pathways that surround Antrim Castle Gardens. The soft, diffused light from the cloudy skies and under the canopy of the tree’s helped create some wonderful tones and colours.

Despite the slightly less than ideal weather, Emma and John were troopers and never once complained about the cold. Their love for each other shone through in every image, and it was a joy to witness and capture. The joy and laughter on their faces were infectious throughout the session. Emma and John's connection was so sweet and genuine, it made our job as a photographers so easy. They were so natural in front of the camera and they just radiated happiness.

Antrim Castle Gardens is a location we have worked at loads of time before for both weddings and other engagement sessions, and it is one that we really like. It’s a pretty vast area so even though we have been here many times before there is always something new to find on each visit.

As we wrapped up the shoot, we couldn't help but feel grateful for the opportunity to document Emma and John's love story. Despite the challenges presented by the weather, we created beautiful and meaningful images that they will cherish for years to come. Being a wedding photographer in Northern Ireland has its challenges, but moments like these make it all worthwhile. we left Antrim Castle Gardens feeling inspired and grateful for the opportunity to do what we love.

We are also super excited to be shooting Emma and John’s wedding later on this year at the Tullyglass Hotel in Ballymena.
