Emma and Gerry got married on the 25th of July at The Harbourview Hotel in the beautiful wee village of Carnlough. They chose to hold both their ceremony and wedding reception at the venue, creating a seamless and memorable day for themselves and their guests.

Gerry’s cousin owns this beautiful venue, which made the decision an easy one for the guys when it came to selecting the perfect location for their wedding day. Choosing this venue helped ensure every detail felt personal, especially with two of Emma’s besties working their magic on hair and make-up as well. Keeping it close to home made the whole day extra special and full of laughs behind the scenes!

For the bride getting ready Emma chose to get ready along with her Mum at the hotel on the morning of the wedding as well. this helped contribute to a stress free and relaxed start to the day, with no worries or concerns about travel logistics. There was laughs a plenty all morning and off course the usual last minute panic to finish of getting ready when it was time to go down for the ceremony.

Emma and Gerry chose to have a Humanist wedding ceremony and The celebrant on the day was Dot Lines. We hadn’t seen Dot in a while, so it was really nice to have a catch-up with her as well. At the start of the ceremony an audio message from Emma and Gerry’s boys was played and that along with Emma walking down the aisle had Gerry feeling very emotional, or maybe he just had something in his eye. Along with their vows and the story of how they met the guys also included a sand blending ceremony so that their kids could be involved in the ceremony as well. Emma and Gerry also cut their wedding cake before walking down the aisle.

This venue doesn’t have any surrounding grounds, and Emma and Gerry didn’t want to be away from their family and friends for too long. It was especially important to find a photo location for after the ceremony that was conveniently close by. We suggested Glenarm Forest because it’s only a few minutes up the road, making it an ideal spot. After the ceremony, we headed there with Emma and Gerry to capture some beautiful moments in a natural setting without losing precious time with their guests.

Glenarm Forest proved to be an ideal location for exactly what the guys were looking for. It was easy to access and offered a peaceful atmosphere, with only a handful of people around, making it a quiet and calm setting for their bride and groom portraits. Emma and Gerry were great craic throughout!

Back at The Harbourview Hotel, we made our way across the road to the charming little marina nearby so that Emma and Gerry could have some beautiful photos taken with their guests. The serene waterfront setting provided a perfect backdrop for capturing these moments for the guys. Once back at the hotel, the guys had a bit of time to chill out with their guests before the speeches.

The speeches themselves truly tugged on the heartstrings, filled with genuine emotion and heartfelt words, leaving hardly a dry eye in the entire room by the time they were finished.
