On the 11th of July, nestled in the heart of Lough Erne, Lusty Beg Island set the perfect stage for the unforgettable wedding of Caoileann and Adam. Surrounded by serene waters and lush greenery, this unique island venue offered a breathtaking backdrop for a day filled with love, laughter, and a few happy tears. Every special moment, from the excitement of getting ready to the beautiful outdoor ceremony and wedding reception, took place at the venue.

it has been a couple of years since the last time we photographed a wedding at Lusty Beg so we have been looking forward to visiting again since Caoileann and Adam first booked with us. These guys live in London so had to do most of their wedding planning from there with a little help from Caoileann’s mum who lives here.

On the morning of the wedding day, we first met up with Caoileann and the rest of the bride squad, sharing their joy and anticipation. A little later on, we called in to see Adam, who was equally eager for the celebrations to begin. Everyone was, as you would naturally expect, filled with excitement and happy anticipation for the wonderful day that lay ahead. The entire morning flew by quickly and remained fairly relaxed, maintaining a calm atmosphere right up until it was time for everyone to make their way to the ceremony.

It was a blistering hot summers day, and with no concerns about the weather, Caoileann and Adam were able to enjoy the outdoor wedding ceremony they had always dreamed of, surrounded by their closest family and friends in perfect sunshine.

These guys chose to have a Humanist wedding ceremony, and their celebrant, Lisa, did an absolutely amazing job. She kept the ceremony lively, upbeat, and fun, which is exactly what Caoileann and Adam had hoped for and envisioned for their big day. The ceremony was deeply personal, full of heartfelt readings, big laughs, and a tangible sense of joy. When they exchanged vows, it was as though the rest of the world faded away, just them surrounded by the people who love them most.

After the ceremony everyone headed for some refreshments and shade from the hot sun while we went exploring around Lusty Beg Island with the newly married couple.

Wedding Photos at Lusty Beg Island

This was one of the hottest days at a wedding we have had in a long time and with the sun high in the sky all day we had to go looking for shade to avoid harsh light and so that Caoileann and Adam felt comfortable while we photographed their bride and groom portraits. While we haven’t been to Lusty Beg in a couple of years for a wedding, we know the venue well having both worked here and stayed here a few times ourselves, so we knew the best areas to use.

The guys were great craic throughout and we were soon able to get everything we needed before shooting some stuff with their family and friends. The guys had plenty of time to chill out with their guests before being called inside for the speeches and dinner. The reception room at Lusty Beg was transformed into a warm, twinkling haven of candles, fairy lights, and beautifully simple décor that reflected the couple’s down to earth personalities. Thoughtful touches, like a memory table for loved ones made everyone feel part of something truly special.

After dinner, the sun began to slowly dip below the horizon, creating a softer, more pleasant light. This change allowed us to take advantage of several areas that had been too hot and uncomfortable to use earlier in the day. The guys then enjoyed some more quality time with their guests before hitting up the dance floor for the first dance and to party with their guests.
