Weddings at Lusty Beg Island

Photographers who know the island and the lough

Lusty Beg Island is a private 75 acre island on Lower Lough Erne, near Kesh in Co. Fermanagh. Guests arrive by a free ferry that runs on demand, and you can marry outdoors in nature or in the Willow Suite, which holds up to 200 guests. The island hosts one wedding a day.

We have photographed weddings here, so we know how the day flows from the ferry to the evening. We plan your timings around the light and the weather, and we always agree a wet weather plan with you beforehand.

If you are choosing a photographer for Fermanagh, have a look at our wedding photographer in Enniskillen page too. Not sure Lusty Beg is the one yet? Our Lusty Beg Island venue guide covers the advantages and disadvantages, or see our luxury wedding photographer page to see how we work.

One wedding a day, so the whole island is yours.

Photography at Lusty Beg Island

Every corner of the island, captured

With one wedding a day we can use the whole island without working around another wedding party. Here are the places we use most and why each one matters. For the full picture, read our Lusty Beg Island venue guide.

Location 01

The pier

The pier gives us a simple, open frame right on the water, with the lough behind you. It is a lovely place for portraits in the soft light of the day.

Location 02

The Lough Erne shoreline

The shoreline gives us water, sky and space. We can walk the edge of the lough with you for relaxed, natural portraits while your guests enjoy the drinks.

Location 03

The woodland

The woodland on the island adds a very different feel, with shade, texture and greenery. It works well for quieter portraits and for the wedding party.

Location 04

The Lake View terrace

The terrace and the patio outside the Willow Suite are handy for candid photographs of your guests, and for a few quiet minutes with your partner close to the party.

Real weddings at Lusty Beg Island

See our work at Lusty Beg Island

We have photographed weddings on the island, at the pier, along the shoreline and out in the grounds, and every one is edited in the same natural, true to life style.

Each includes the getting ready, the ferry arrival, the ceremony, portraits around the island and the party in the evening. Click a photo to see the whole day.

Plan for the weather

An outdoor ceremony depends on the Fermanagh weather, and the Willow Suite is your indoor option. We always agree a wet weather plan with you beforehand.

One wedding at a time

With one wedding a day we never work around another party, so we can use the pier, the shoreline and the woodland wherever the light is best.

Autumn and winter

Daylight is short in the colder months, so we plan your couple portraits earlier in the day to make the most of the light.

Frequently asked questions

Your Lusty Beg Island wedding photography questions answered

The things couples ask us most about photography at Lusty Beg Island. If yours is not here, send us a message or have a look at our wedding FAQ.

Do you photograph weddings at Lusty Beg Island?

Yes. We have photographed weddings at Lusty Beg Island, including Caoileann and Adam, Rebecca and Seth and Kate and Michael, so we know the pier, the shoreline and the woodland well. Both of us come to every wedding, so you get two photographers for your whole day.

Where is Lusty Beg Island?

Lusty Beg Island is a private 75 acre island on Lower Lough Erne, near Kesh in Co. Fermanagh (Boa Island, Kesh, BT93 8AD). Guests cross by a free ferry that runs on demand. If you are choosing a photographer for the area, see our wedding photographer in Enniskillen page.

How do guests get to the island?

By a free ferry that runs on demand across Lower Lough Erne, with free mainland parking. It is worth sharing the ferry details with your guests well ahead of the day, especially anyone who is not staying overnight.

Can we have an outdoor ceremony?

Yes. You can marry outdoors in nature, or inside the Willow Suite, which holds up to 200 guests. An outdoor ceremony depends on the weather, so we always agree a wet weather plan with you beforehand.

Is there more than one wedding a day?

No, the island hosts one wedding a day. That means we never work around another wedding party and can use the whole island for your photographs.

Where are the best places for photos?

The pier, the Lough Erne shoreline, the woodland and the Lake View terrace all work well, and we plan the order of locations around your timings and the light. Our Lusty Beg Island venue guide has more on each spot.

What if it rains, or we are marrying in winter?

We always agree a wet weather plan with you beforehand, and the Willow Suite gives you an indoor ceremony. For autumn and winter dates we plan your portraits earlier because daylight is shorter.

How much does a Lusty Beg Island wedding photographer cost?

Our collections start at £1,375 for half day coverage and go up to £2,675 for a full day with albums and an engagement session. Both of us photograph every wedding, and there is no extra travel charge for weddings within Northern Ireland. You can see exactly what is included on our pricing page.

Do you have a venue guide for Lusty Beg Island?

Yes. Our Lusty Beg Island venue guide covers the advantages and disadvantages, the facts couples ask about most and a sample timeline for the day. You can also see how it compares in our best wedding venues in Northern Ireland post.

When will we get our photographs?

Your private online gallery is delivered within six weeks of your wedding, with high resolution downloads and a print shop. If you cannot wait, our fast edit add on guarantees your photos within 10 days for an extra £400.
