Lusty Beg Island Wedding | Rebecca + Seth

Rebecca & Seth got married on the 6th of July at Ballygawley Preybeterian Church with their wedding reception taking place at Lusty Beg Island in Fermanagh.

It was a very emotional day for everyone, Seth lives in Florida, U.S.A and because of current travel restrictions many of his family and friends that he would have loved to have been there were unable to make to make the long trip over the pond. For Rebecca and her family and friends it was an even more emotionally charged day because as well as being Rebecca’s wedding day she will soon be heading of to Florida to start her new life with Seth.

Rebecca & Seth first met when they were both working at a summer camp in America, interestingly Seth’s Mum & Dad both first met at the very same summer camp. Seth cleverly managed to win Rebecca over by asking her what she missed most about home, which was her favourite brand of tea which Seth then made sure to get a stock of for the summer camp larder.

We started the morning at Rebecca’s Mum & Dad’s home in Ballygawley and we were immediately blown away by the beautiful view of the local countryside around them. Of course, everyone was very excited for the day ahead but as well as many laughs and giggles shared there was a few tears as well. We were also super excited to be wedding photographers in Enniskillen for the day.

When we arrived at the church to meet Seth, he wasn’t fazed at all, and he spent his time on the lead up to the ceremony with last-minute tasks, like ensuring that the live stream was up and running. The ceremony was conducted by Seth’s own minister from back home who flew all the way from America to marry Rebecca & Seth. The minister told us later in the day that he has fallen in love with Northern Ireland and plans on returning soon. Rebecca and Seth are both teachers and the kids that Rebecca teaches put together a video of them singing a hymn for the ceremony we know they both loved.

Rebecca & Seth fell very lucky on the day with the weather seeming to change to suit them at every turn. The weather forecast for the day said to expect torrential rain and at times there was heavy showers. It was particularly bad as we arrived at Lusty Beg Island but as soon as Rebecca & Seth arrived the rain stopped and we even got a little bit of sun. It rained again just as dinner was being served but was gone again before everyone was finished eating. This meant that we had plenty of time to explore Lusty Beg Island with Rebecca & Seth without having to worry to much about the weather. It’s been a little while since we last visited here and while some things have changed all the best bits have remained the same.

There were some very emotional speeches at this wedding, Rebecca’s bridesmaid had also put together a little presentation mixed with songs which as well as providing a few laughs produced some tears. Rebecca also teaches Sunday School and the kids from her Sunday School class each sent her a video message. Some of them were very funny including a special message from two little boys that warned Seth that he must bring her back home to visit often or face the consequences!
