Loughshore Hotel Wedding: Amy and Nathan's Love-filled Celebration
Amy & Nathan got married and had their wedding reception at the Belfast Loughshore Hotel in Carrickfergus on the 27th of December.
Amy and her bridesmaids got ready from her and Nathan’s home in Lisburn. We live in Lisburn ourselves so it was an easy start to the morning for us as it took only a few minutes to get there. The morning went as planned and everyone was ready to leave before we left for the hotel.
On arriving at the Loughshore Hotel we met up with Nathan for a couple of quick photos of him and his groomsmen. Just like Amy had been earlier in the morning Nathan looked like someone who had just found out he had won the lottery. It was easy to see how excited they both where to get married.
We also had time for a quick chat about the ceremony with the officiant for the day, Pastor James Clarke. We have met James before at another wedding, he is a really friendly guy that looks after his couples very well. We really like that he performs the ceremony the way his couples want. On the lead up to the wedding, Amy & Nathan had tried to make arrangements with Carrickfergus Castle to have their bride and groom portrait’s taken there but where unable to do so. We suggested Loughshore Park as an alternative option as we had used it before for other weddings. After the ceremony we made arrangements with Amy & Nathan to meet them at Loughshore Park as they had wanted to stay a little longer at the hotel to greet their guests. Once we got there, we had a little look around as it’s been a while since we have visited, to find areas to use while we waited for Amy & Nathan.
Amy & Nathan arrived a bit later than expected as they got caught up greeting their guests as can sometimes happen. This meant that we had less time than we would normally allow for this part of the day. With the limited amount of time we had available, we had to work quickly but there was still plenty of laughs and giggles. Amy & Nathan are both good fun and we both really enjoyed this little bit of time with them.

Upon arriving back at the hotel, we ran into another small issue. The area that Amy & Nathan had wanted to use for bridal party and family photographs wasn’t available as it was closed for refurbishment. With no time to go elsewhere, we used the entrance to the hotel instead. Once back inside the hotel it was time for the speeches and after dinner Amy & Nathan’s first dance. After Amy & Nathan had strutted their stuff, the dance floor filled up quickly and everyone looked to be having a great night.
