Galgorm Resort Wedding | Lauren + George
Lauren & George where married on the 29th of December at Maze Presbyterian Church in Lisburn and held their wedding reception at Galgorm Resort & Spa in Ballymena.
It seems like such a long time ago since we first met Lauren & George to chat about their wedding plans. We then got to know them a lot better when we photographed their engagement session at Sir. Thomas & Lady Dixon Park a few months ago.
On the morning of the wedding we met up with Lauren at her Mum & Dad’s home in Lisburn. Lauren was her usual bubbly self throughout the morning and didn’t seem affected at all by any pre-wedding nerves, just excited as you would expect for the day ahead. Once Lauren was ready, we made our way over to the church to meet up with George.

On arriving at the church, George and his groomsmen where waiting for us, so we where able to grab a few quick photos with him before Lauren arrived for the ceremony. The ceremony itself was quite traditional and the church had a nice open layout which allowed us to move around which we always like.
After the ceremony we headed straight away for the venue, we were very excited to get there and photograph a Galgorm wedding. With winter weddings there is usually very little time to spare and with a journey to Ballymena ahead of us we knew we needed to get there quickly to make use of what available light there was left. This was the first time we have photographed a wedding at Galgorm, although we have visited a couple of times before to photograph other things including a shoot for a fashion label a couple of years ago. We were really impressed with how organised the wedding team at Galgorm are and it’s easy to see why it’s such a popular wedding venue.

Lauren & George arrived just after we did which meant that we where able to get started with their session straight away and we made our way to the river that runs through Galgorm Resort as it offers the best opportunity for wedding photographs. We would have liked to have explored the hotel grounds a little more but being pushed for time and it being a freezing cold day, Lauren & George wanted to stay close to the hotel which was understandable. We were quite lucky with the weather on the day as we had just enough time to grab a few quick bridal party and family photos after Lauren & George’s session before it started to rain.
Once back inside the hotel Lauren & George had a few minutes to relax and greet their guests before the speeches started. The speeches were great and everyone did very well. After dinner it was time for the first dance and it was very easy to see for everyone there just how happy Lauren & George where. Lauren also had a dance with her Dad, before everyone else hit up the dance floor.
