Galgorm Resort is one of the most spectacular wedding venues in Northern Ireland and one of our favourite places to spend a wedding day. Set across 163 acres of parkland alongside the River Maine, it gives us more variety in a single venue than almost anywhere else we work. We have photographed weddings here across every season and in every space the resort has to offer.
We know how the light falls across the riverside grounds in the evening and exactly when to bring you there. We know the character the Phantom House brings to a ceremony and how the Great Hall looks as the night builds. We know the quiet corners of the grounds that most guests never find and we plan around them on every single wedding day.

Galgorm Resort gives us more variety in a single venue than almost anywhere else we work in Northern Ireland. Here are the locations we use on your wedding day and why each one matters.
The Phantom House
The Phantom House is one of the most characterful ceremony spaces in Northern Ireland. A converted building with stone walls, soft lighting and windows that let the natural light fall beautifully across the room. It photographs brilliantly in every season. The rustic warmth of the space gives ceremony images a timeless, intimate quality that is very hard to replicate anywhere else.
The Riverside Grounds
The River Maine runs alongside the resort and the grounds that border it are among the finest portrait locations in Northern Ireland. We know exactly when the evening light hits the riverbank and how to position couples to make full use of it. The combination of water, woodland and open parkland gives us a huge amount of variety without ever needing to leave the venue.
The Great Hall
The Great Hall is Galgorm at its most grand. Inspired by the Art Deco period, it is an opulent space that photographs with real drama and elegance. We know how the light moves through the room across the day and we plan around it. The bar area and outdoor spaces attached to the Great Hall also give us natural opportunities to capture relaxed, candid moments during the drinks reception.
The Resort Grounds and Woodland
Spread across 163 acres of parkland, the wider grounds at Galgorm give us almost endless options for portraits. Ancient trees lining the driveway, manicured lawns, waterfalls and wooded walkways all sit within a short distance of the main hotel. For couples who want something a little more natural and adventurous the woodland areas give us a completely different mood to the formal spaces inside.

Have you photographed weddings at Galgorm Resort before?
Yes, we have photographed a number of weddings at Galgorm Resort and know the venue well. We are familiar with the ceremony spaces, the reception suites and the grounds. That knowledge means we spend your wedding day working, not finding our feet.
What makes Galgorm such a good venue for wedding photography?
Galgorm gives us an incredible range of settings within a single venue. The River Maine, the ancient woodland, the parkland grounds and the characterful indoor spaces like the Phantom House and Great Hall all sit within a short distance of each other. Very few venues in Northern Ireland offer that kind of variety and it shows in the final gallery.
Which ceremony space is best for photography at Galgorm?
Both the Phantom House and the Ghost House are wonderful spaces to photograph a ceremony and each has its own distinct character. The Phantom House has a rustic, intimate feel with beautiful natural light. The Ghost House is equally stunning. For outdoor ceremonies the grounds provide a spectacular backdrop whatever the season. All three work brilliantly and the choice really comes down to the feel you want for your day.
How far in advance should we get in touch?
Galgorm is one of the most in demand wedding venues in Northern Ireland and popular dates go quickly on our end too. We would encourage you to reach out as soon as your Galgorm date is secured. For peak summer weekends we are often fully booked 12 to 18 months out so the sooner you contact us the better your chances of securing your date.
What if the weather is bad on our wedding day at Galgorm?
Galgorm handles poor weather better than most venues. The Phantom House, the Great Hall, the covered outdoor areas and the hotel interior all give us excellent options regardless of what the sky is doing. Overcast light is genuinely flattering for portraits and some of our favourite images from Galgorm have come from grey days. Northern Irish weather has never stopped us getting great photographs.
Can we get ready at Galgorm on the morning of our wedding?
Yes and we love when couples take advantage of this. Galgorm has 122 guest rooms and many couples stay the night before and get ready at the resort on the morning. Having us with you from the very start of the day in those beautiful surroundings makes for a much more relaxed morning and a much richer set of photographs from start to finish.
Do you travel to Galgorm from Belfast?
Yes, Galgorm is well within our regular travel area and there is no additional travel charge for weddings there. We are based in Northern Ireland and travel to venues across the country as standard with every package. Getting to Galgorm is straightforward and we always arrive well ahead of time so we are ready and settled before the day begins.
