Weddings at Beech Hill Country House

Photographers who know the forest and the grounds

Beech Hill Country House is a country house wedding venue in Ardmore, around 3 miles from Derry/Londonderry, set in over 30 acres of grounds. You can marry outdoors in the Forest or by the Lake, or indoors in Skipton Hall, and the venue hosts one wedding a day.

We have photographed weddings here and it is one of our favourite venues to work at. We plan your timings around the light and the weather, and we always agree a wet weather plan with you beforehand.

If you are choosing a photographer for the north west, have a look at our wedding photographer in Derry page too. Not sure Beech Hill is the one yet? Our Beech Hill Country House venue guide covers the advantages and disadvantages, or see our luxury wedding photographer page to see how we work.

One wedding a day, so the whole estate is yours.

Photography at Beech Hill

Every corner of the estate, captured

With one wedding a day we can use the whole venue without working around another wedding party. Here are the places we use most and why each one matters. For the full picture, read our Beech Hill Country House venue guide.

Location 01

The Forest

The venue signature ceremony space. You walk in along an elevated pathway through tall trees, and your guests sit among the woodland. The light is soft and moody, which we love, so it suits a natural, documentary look.

Location 02

The Lake

A lakeside aisle with views of the house, the gazebo and the waterwheel. You exchange vows beneath a beech tree at the water edge, and the lake gives us calm, open frames for portraits afterwards.

Location 03

Skipton Hall and the house

Skipton Hall has high ceilings, chandeliers and large windows that let in plenty of natural light, so it works whatever the weather does. The house has lovely rooms with big bay windows for the quieter moments of the day.

Location 04

The walled gardens, ruins and bridges

The grounds cover over 30 acres, with walled gardens, old ruins, waterfalls and bridges. We choose the spots that suit the light on your day, so your portraits have plenty of variety without leaving the venue.

Real weddings at Beech Hill Country House

See our work at Beech Hill

We have photographed weddings at Beech Hill in the forest, around the grounds and in the house, and every one is edited in the same natural, true to life style.

Each includes the getting ready, the ceremony, portraits around the grounds and the party in the evening. Click a photo to see the whole day.

Plan for the weather

The Forest and the Lake depend on the weather. Skipton Hall is your indoor option and holds 110 guests, so check that your guest list fits and agree a plan B with us beforehand.

One wedding at a time

With one wedding a day we never work around another party, so we can use the forest, the lake and the gardens wherever the light is best.

Soft, moody light

The Forest is shaded by tall trees, so the light is soft rather than bright and airy. It is beautiful, and we plan your portraits around it.

What our couples say

Kind words from a Beech Hill couple

What Mr. and Mrs. Duddy said about having Tommy and Laurene photograph their wedding day at Beech Hill Country House.

I 100% recommend Pure Photo N.I. The photos were amazing. They were amazing to work with, they were friendly, great at communicating throughout the whole process, and the only regret I had at the wedding was that I didn’t get them to stay the whole night! You definitely can’t go wrong with Pure Photo N.I.
