Ashleigh and Nathan's Enchanting Engagement Session at Ballintoy Harbour

A couple of weeks ago, we met up with Ashleigh & Nathan for their engagement session. These guys opted for an adventure along the north coast, which for us is just the best place in the world for this type of photography session and it’s somewhere we just love to visit anyway.

Ashleigh & Nathan first got together 4 years ago and then got engaged last July and have been busy planning their wedding ever since. They told us that everything is now pretty much sorted for the big day which will be happening later on this year, with the ceremony taking place in their local church and their wedding reception will be at the always fab Corick House in Clogher.

These guys were great fun to spend the morning with even after we made them get up out of bed on their day off super early to get to Ballintoy Harbour for early morning, which is where we planned to spend most of our time. Although we were devastated to learn that Nathan is a big Liverpool fan and has over time slowly but surely indoctrinated Ashleigh as well.

We have said it before on our blog and it still remains the case, we love Ballintoy Harbour! We have been coming here for donkey’s years, both for work when we have some free time too ourselves. It is just a beautiful place to visit and is always our first stop off point when we go for a drive around the coast, which we do regularly. Even at this time of the year when the weather isn’t so good the views here are amazing.

It was a very cold day and of course it’s always windy here as well, even in the height of summer, you can expect high winds here. There was lots of muddy fields and rocks to climb as well, but Ashleigh & Nathan didn’t complain once. This is always a popular place for visitors but we got there early enough to avoid them.

Once we had finished up at Ballintoy, we had a little bit of time left and as it is only up the road, we made for Dunseverick Castle. Unfortunately, when we arrived there the light wasn’t so good but we were able to make a few creative choices of where to shoot and got some nice stuff with the guys there as well. Off course the light started getting good just as it was time for us to leave. As the guys were heading home the same way us, we though we might as well stop for a quick photo at the Dark Hedges as well. It was already getting busy when we arrived but we managed to hide the tourists behind the guys for a quick photo before heading for home.
