Clandeboye Lodge Hotel Wedding | Katrina & Jason

Katrina & Jason got married at the Clandeboye Lodge Hotel in Bangor on the 25th of June. After the ceremony we made our way to Crawfordsburn Country Park before returning to the hotel for the wedding reception.

We first met Katrina & Jason when we photographed Kate & Michael’s Lusty Beg Island wedding last year, when Jason was the best man. This time around it was Jason’s turn to be the groom while Michael was Jason’s best man.

We met up with everyone at the hotel itself as Katrina & Jason had stayed at the hotel the night before. Everything ran like clockwork and everyone was ready in plenty of time for the ceremony. The day always seems to run much smoother when there doesn’t need to be a lot of travelling to and from venues.

This was an incredibly hot summers day and one of the hottest days we have ever photographed a wedding on. Katrina & Jason had originally planned on just getting a few photos in and around the hotel but due to the intense heat and the very bright sun we suggested using the forest area at Crawfordsburn Country Park instead. Once back at the hotel and after the speeches and the meal the sun had fallen just enough to let us make use of the hotel grounds for a few family and bridal party photos.

Katrina & Jason are a very laid-back couple and while every couple normally has a few photographs that they want us to take for them there only request was for a photograph of the groomsmen showing of their wedding rings, so that they could poke fun at the only unmarried groomsmen. They even arranged a special Haribo ring just for him.

This was a really fun wedding day and it was nice for us to catch up with some familiar faces. We loved the 80’s movie themed reception decorations with some of our favourite movies featured and the wedding cake just looked amazing.
