Sarah + Rob's Elopement at Dunluce Castle

Sarah and Rob travelled all the way from Canada to the stunning Dunluce Castle on the Causeway Coast for their intimate elopement on the 20th of May. Accompanied by Rob's parents and sister who journeyed from Canada, and Sarah's loving family who travelled all the way from India, so they could share in this intimate elopement.

This elopement was a slightly different experience for us as we had no communication between ourselves and Sarah and Rob before meeting them on the day, as we were booked by their wedding planner. The spontaneity and mystery added a unique element to our usual approach, allowing us to capture moments in a fresh and unscripted manner, reflecting the true essence of their love story in each photograph we captured.

Sarah and Rob spent the night before their elopement at Me and Mrs. Jones in Portstewart. We visit Portstewart a lot but this was the first time we have been in this hotel. The hotel not only served as a space for getting ready but also set the stage for an emotional first look between the bride and groom.

We all gathered at the picturesque elopement field at Dunluce Castle almost simultaneously. Despite the harsh midday sun, not the most ideal for photography, it did impart a warm and inviting ambiance for the couple and their loved ones.

The ceremony itself was undeniably beautiful, set against the breath-taking backdrop of the picturesque location, making it an unforgettable experience for all in attendance. Sarah and Rob, in addition to exchanging their heartfelt vows, also joyously celebrated their union by officially "tying the knot" and sharing a handfasting ceremony. The bride and groom’s profound love and commitment shone brightly throughout the ceremony, filling the hearts of all in attendance with warmth and happiness.

After the beautiful ceremony, we embarked on a picturesque journey along the stunning Causeway Coast to reach the always amazing Ballintoy Harbour. If you are regular readers of our blog you will already know that this is one of our favourite places in the world and we loved sharing that with Sarah and Rob. These guys are already very well travelled but they were still blown away by the simple beauty of Ballintoy Harbour.

With it being a bit later in the day, we didn’t have to worry about lots of tourists being present as Ballintoy is a popular destination for all of the many Game of Thrones tours that you always see on the North Coast. The serene atmosphere allowed us to capture the beauty of the location without any distractions, ensuring that the essence of the moment was authentically captured. The only downside is that we would have loved to have had a little more time with our bride and groom, capturing even more special moments, emotions, and candid interactions. However, the guys were on a very tight schedule, making every minute count.
