Larchfield Estate Wedding | Calypso + Nikolas
We started the morning at Calypso's Mum's home in Markethill, capturing those intimate moments as she and her bridesmaids got ready. There's something special about those quiet moments before the big reveal, the laughter and the small touches that show just how much this day means to everyone involved. Calypso's excitement was genuine, and her bridesmaids were so full of joy getting her ready for the day ahead. The beautiful July weather had everyone in great spirits from the very beginning.
Wedding photos at Larchfield Estate
From the moment we arrived at Larchfield Estate, we knew Calypso and Nikolas had picked the perfect day to get married. The weather was absolutely beautiful, and the couple's energy was infectious.
Before the ceremony took place, Calypso and Nikolas shared a first touch and exchanged letters they'd written for each other, then read them aloud to one another. Those quiet moments were so intimate and genuine, and you could see just how much their words meant to one another. It set the perfect tone for what was to come.
Calypso and Nikolas chose to get married in an outdoor wedding ceremony in the stunning walled garden, and as a humanist ceremony, it felt deeply personal to them both. We loved the way they'd crafted their vows to really reflect who they are as a couple. After the formalities were over, the fun truly began. A bouncy castle got everyone in the mood to celebrate, followed by a confetti moment that was absolutely magical. Then came the cake cutting, and we then made our way around the beautiful grounds surrounding the venue, including the private garden reserved just for the bride and groom. Those quiet moments away from the crowds really let us capture their connection without distraction.

Back at the walled garden, we spent time photographing Calypso and Nikolas with their family and friends before everyone headed inside for the speeches and dinner. The evening brought even more personality to the day. We shot some wonderful images in The Greenhouse, which provided such a beautiful backdrop for their photos. We then talked some kids into a game of ring a ring o' roses around the happy couple, real movement, and an epic kiss. Their first dance happened outdoors in the courtyard under the evening light, and it was genuinely beautiful. There's something special about having your first dance outside, a different type of atmosphere that sets it apart from any indoor celebration.
What really stood out to us was how much Calypso and Nikolas had thought about making their day feel like them. From the bouncy castle to the hypnotist to having the kids involved, everything felt genuine and fun. There was no pretence, just two people who genuinely wanted to celebrate with the people they love.
Working at Larchfield Estate gave us access to some stunning backdrops, from the walled garden where they said their vows to the private garden and The Greenhouse for portraits. The beautiful July weather meant we could shoot outdoors for their first dance, which gave us those natural, romantic moments that make for the best photos. Larchfield Estate is one of our favourite venues to shoot at, and we loved being part of Calypso and Nikolas's celebration and capturing all the details that made this day theirs.
