Orange Tree House Wedding | Rachel + David

Rachel and David’s wedding was on the 2nd of June. They got married in Lisburn Free Presbyterian Church and their wedding reception took place at Orange Tree House in Greyabbey.

On the morning of the wedding, we made our way over to Rachel’s mum and dad’s home in Ballygowan for getting ready. Everyone was excited for the day ahead as you would expect. The ladies were all ready in good time so we were able to make our way to the church to meet up with David on schedule.

It was a bit of a funny journey to the church for us, as this church is literally a stone throw away from our house, and we drove past home on the way there. Just like the girls had been, David and the rest of the boys were in great form when we arrived and excited for the ceremony.

Just as we arrived there was a few laughs as the florist mistook the Minister for David’s dad and hooked up the confused Minister with a button hole. Thankfully she had a spare available so David’s dad didn’t miss out.

After the ceremony we made our way over to the ruins at Greyabbey. We got there in plenty of time, but for one reason or another everyone else arrived a fair bit later than expected. In the end it didn’t matter to much as Rachel and David had built in plenty of flex into their wedding timeline so we were able to get everything we needed and still not be too late getting back to Orange Tree House.

This was our second visit to Orange Tree House in just over a week and a lot of the staff that were working Rachel and David’s wedding were the same staff from the previous wedding as well, so it was nice to catch up and say hello to them again.

Back at the venue Rachel and David had plenty of time to chill out with their guests before the speeches. There was a slight hold up on the speeches starting as David’s dad had left a page from his speech at home. We found him rewriting the missing page at the front of the venue, in super quick time.

David mentioned during his speech that if it had been up to him, he would have had a Star Wars themed wedding, but that he was glad that Rachel had convinced him to go a different route. He did manage to sneak in some tie fighter cufflinks on the day though.
