Larchfield Estate Wedding | Anna + Darren

Anna and Darren got married on the 3rd of August, celebrating their special day together with their family and friends. Both their beautiful wedding ceremony and reception took place at the always amazing Larchfield Estate, in Lisburn.

On the morning of the wedding day, we met up with Anna at The Haslem hotel in Lisburn city centre where the girls had stayed the night before, for getting ready. Anna opted not to have any bridesmaids as she wanted to keep the wedding day relaxed and informal but her two besties were still on hand to help throughout the morning. Their wasn’t the usual hair and make-up team on-site either, the girls all helped each other get ready. This made for one of the most relaxed, stress free wedding mornings we have ever photographed. Although we did have our own panic moment when our ticket for the underground car park wouldn’t work. The car park no longer has any staff on-site so we had to phone a call centre in England to get it sorted, while this held us up for a while we still made it the venue with time to spare.

On arriving at Larchfield Estate we met up with an excited Darren and his groomsmen. The guys were all in great form before the ceremony with the only concern being if the planned outdoor ceremony would have to be moved indoors as it was looking like there might be some rain. In the end the guys decided to go for it as outdoor ceremonies in the gardens at Larchfield Estate are incredibly beautiful.

As Anna reached the top of the aisle the heavens opened and it started to rain and it continued throughout most of the ceremony. Anna just smiled and carried on walking and it was wonderful! The ceremony on the day was performed by Pastor James Clarke. It’s been a while since we have seen James so it was good to catch up with him again and as usual he delivered an awesome ceremony for Anna and Darren.

While for a lot of couples of getting married in the rain outdoors wouldn’t appeal in all honesty it was just breathtakingly beautiful and both Anna and Darren didn’t regret it for one minute.

After the ceremony the rain cleared to leave behind an amazing warm and sunny day, so we had plenty of time to go for a walk around the gardens with Anna and Darren. Larchfield Estate is one of our favourite wedding venues as there is some much to see and explore in the extensive gardens, we find something new every time we visit.

Once we got finished up with Anna and Darren’s portraits we had just enough time to get some photos with their family and friends before it started to rain again. The one thing we were missing was the confetti run Anna and Darren had really wanted but thankfully the rain cleared with just enough time before the speeches for us to shoot that in the courtyard at Larchfield Estate as well.

After dinner we grabbed Anna and Darren for another 5-10 minutes for some more portraits and an impromptu game of Croquet, before the guys made their way on to the dancefloor to party the rest of the night away with their family and friends.
