Leighinmohr Hotel Wedding | Martine + Steven

Martine and Steven got married on the 3rd of June at St. Pauls in Belfast with their wedding reception taking place at the Leighinmohr House Hotel in Ballymena.

These guys had a tough run up to their wedding. The priest that was supposed to officiate became seriously ill, but thankfully another local priest was able to step in and he was great. Then their wedding transport company contacted them a few days before to say that the Rolls Royce they had booked had went on fire and wouldn’t be available for their wedding day. With the normal stress that planning a wedding brings, two issues like that close to the wedding day would have most couples fretting. Not these two though! Both Martine and Steven are very laid back and just didn’t worry about small issues like that after being together for 12 years they just wanted to have a fun day with their family and friends!

We arrived for getting ready at Martine’s mum and dad’s on the morning of the wedding with the house in a sea of activity as the girls got ready. It was a lovely fun morning with Martine’s bubbly personality putting everyone around her at ease.

On arriving at St. Pauls we met up with Steven and the rest of the boys just before the ceremony. The ceremony itself was quite traditional although the priest was a geg, we knew he would provide plenty of laughs as we had met him at another wedding last year.

Once the guys said “I do”, we made our way to Antrim Castle Gardens as the photo area at the Leiginmohr House Hotel is a wide-open space and with it being a very warm day with the sun high in the sky we needed to find somewhere that could offer a little protection from the sun and some shade. We picked the wrong day to go there though as a large event was being held, but a friendly security guard looked after us. The police also stopped to say hello and wish the guys well as well as giving Martine her opportunity to be inside a police car.

On arriving at the hotel we met up with the bridal party and managed to grab everyone needed away from watching the F.,A cup final for some photos in the hotel grounds. We got the photos done in record quick time so that everyone could get out of the sun and made our way back to the hotel. Normally we would have been gutted to miss the cup final but as United didn’t win, it didn’t matter anyway.

Back inside the venue all of the speeches went great although we though Martine’s did it best! After dinner we went for a little walk around the hotel. We work at this venue a lot and we wanted to see if we could find somewhere slightly different to use with the guys. We lucked into a lovely little overgrown path very close to the venue that worked great for a few evening portraits with Martine and Steven.

The guys ended the evening with an old school game of Mr. & Mrs. before the first dance. Martine then had a dance with her dad, before everyone else hit up the dancefloor to party the night away.
