Ten Square Hotel Wedding: Shauna and John's Memorable Union
Shauna & John got married on the 2nd of June with both their ceremony and reception being held at the Ten Square Hotel in Belfast City Centre.
On the morning of the wedding we had originally planned to photograph Shauna getting ready in the room her and the rest of the girls had stayed in the night before. At the last minute though Shauna was able to make arrangements with the hotel for us to use The Loft rooftop bar in the hotel instead. This worked well as it allowed for a lot more space for everyone to work in and plenty of room for Shauna & John’s daughter, Maisie (our new best friend) to run about in. Shauna is probably one of the most relaxed brides we have spent time with on the morning of the wedding and in no time at all it seemed all the ladies where pretty much ready. We even had time to go down and meet up with John and his best man for a few quick photos in the hotel lobby bar before the ceremony.

With Ten Square very much being a city style hotel, they don’t have any grounds to use for wedding photography. So, our options where to go for a more city styled look and shoot stuff in and around the city centre or to go elsewhere. Both options appealed to Shauna & John but in the end, they decided to go with visiting the Botanic Gardens in Belfast after the ceremony for their bride & groom session. Botanic Gardens is somewhere we know quite well as we have visited plenty of times before for weddings and engagement sessions and it’s always a nice area to use.
With the ceremony being later on in the day at 3p.m, we didn’t get there until after 4p.m so we had to be very careful with our time, but even with the time pressure we both really enjoyed the alone time we got with Shauna & John. They are both just genuinely nice people and a lot of fun to spend time with. Botanic Gardens was busier than we expected for a Sunday for some Belfast wedding photos and lots of passers by including the P.S.N.I congratulated the guys as we walked through the park. Once we got back to the hotel, we had just enough time to grab a few photos of the bridal party before we needed to go back inside for the speeches.

John is a big Spurs fan and with Tottenham having lost in the Champions League final the night before to Liverpool it was only natural that he would mention it during his speech. What made it hilarious was that the guy at Ten Square who was looking after Shauna & John on the day is actually called Mohamed Salah.
Once the speeches and dinner were over and the guys had cut their cake, we made use of the little bit of time we had while the hotel staff got the room ready for the first dance to shoot some family photos outside the hotel.
There was a lovely moment during the first dance when Maisie joined her mum and dad on the dance floor. Shauna then shared a dance with her Dad and not long after John and his Mum joined them too.
