Roe Park Resort Wedding: Charlotte and Steven's Joyous Celebration
On the 21st of June we photographed Charlotte & Steven’s wedding. The ceremony took place at All Saints Parish Church in Antrim and the reception venue was the Roe Park Resort in Limavady.
On the morning of the wedding we met up with Charlotte and her bridesmaids at her family home in Antrim to photograph everyone getting ready. Charlotte had everything planned perfectly, so everyone was ready in plenty of time for the ceremony. It was great to be a Limavady wedding photographer for the day.
On arriving at the church, we spotted Steven’s car straight away parked outside. He had been working for months to get the car ready for the wedding, including working on the car well into the wee hours the night before and it looked great, well worth all the effort. While the ceremony itself was quite tradional the Minister on the day did a really good job of keeping things light-hearted and putting everyone at ease, exactly what Charlotte & Steven had wanted. He was also very friendly and let us do our thing without placing any restrictions on where we could move around which is always nice.
After the ceremony we headed back to Charlotte’s family home to grab a quick photo of her and Steven under the flower arch in the garden which is a family tradition. Before heading of to the Roe Park Resort, we also had time to grab a quick photo of Steven and the rest of the boys with Steven’s car.
The Roe Park Resort is within the Roe Valley Country Park and while this was the first time, we have photographed a wedding at the Roe Park, we had used the country park for another Limavady wedding we photographed a few years ago. It hasn’t changed much since our last visit and is still a lovely location to use for wedding photographs.
Once back at the resort we had just enough time to grab a few bridal party and family photos before the speeches. Charlotte & Steven opted to have Derek their toastmaster read out written speeches rather than have everyone read them out themselves. Derek is a really funny guy and did a great job.
At most weddings there is usually a little down time after dinner when the reception venue staff move everyone to another area while they get the reception room ready for the first dance and to allow time for the band or D.J set up. To keep everyone occupied Charlotte & Steven arranged for local country music legend Fiddler Adam to keep everyone entertained and he was absolutely brilliant! Cookstown based wedding band Juice provided the wedding music for the rest of the evening and also did a great job.
