Lissanoure Castle Wedding: Hannah and Mark's Fairytale Celebration

Hannah & Mark got married on the 10th of June with the ceremony taking place at Wellington Presbyterian Church in Ballymena and their wedding reception was held at Lissanoure Castle in Loughguille.

There was a bit of a last-minute panic for these guys when Hannah’s uncle who was to be Minister at the ceremony missed his flight the day before the wedding. Thankfully they were able to get him on another flight and all was well.

It was a pretty relaxed house when we arrived to meet Hannah and the rest of the girls at her mum and dad’s home for getting ready. Hannah didn’t seem in any way nervous at all. It was a different story when we arrived at the church to meet Mark though who told us he was very nervous. Mark had been brought to the ceremony in record time in his friends Posche 911 Turbo, an unbelievable car!

Hannah’s dad is also a Minister but he stayed in his dad role for the ceremony and Hannah’s uncle married the guys. After the ceremony everyone headed into the church hall for refreshments.

We headed straight away for Lissanoure Castle, it had been a little while since our last visit here and with it being a ridiculously hot day, we wanted to have a quick scout around for areas we could use when Hannah and Mark caught up with us. Lissanoure Castle is a hidden gem located near Ballymena, there has been a castle here since the early 1300’s. It is brimming with character and charm. Its lush gardens, rolling hills, and stately architecture create an idyllic atmosphere that transports guests back in time. As everyone arrived at the castle, they were greeted by the sight of grand turrets and ancient stone walls, setting the tone for an extraordinary celebration.

Obviously when Hannah and Mark first arrived, we got a quick photo with the 911 before making our way around the grounds. Lissanoure is surrounded by some beautiful scenery but because of the uncomfortable heat we tried to use the areas that kept the guys in the shade for the most part. I think Mark was dreading this part of the day but he soon got into the swing of things and both of them did very well. After spending a little time with the guys, we headed back up to the main castle entrance for some photographs with the bridal party and Hannah and Mark’s families. Once everything was finished the guys had plenty of time to chill out and enjoy the afternoon sunshine in the courtyard with their family and friends.

The celebration then moved inside the castle's main wedding reception room, which was adorned with twinkling lights and exquisite floral arrangements. The room exuded a sense of regal opulence, with its high ceilings and ornate chandeliers. Mark had 3 best men on the day with one acting as compere, the other two did speeches along with the usual dad’s and Mark himself. Hannah and Mark opted for our half day package option so we headed for home after the speeches had ended, very happy to have met and spent some time with these lovely people.
