Weddings at Lissanoure Castle
Photographers who know the castle and its light
Lissanoure Castle sits at the foot of the Glens of Antrim, on a privately owned family estate near Loughguile, with lakes, parkland and old woods all around it. A castle has stood here since the 1300s. You can marry between the castle walls in a glass roofed space, in the Coach House, or at All Saints Church at the entrance to the estate and walk up the drive.
We have photographed weddings here, including a micro wedding, so we know where the light falls at the clock tower gatehouse and beside the lake, how the day moves between the church, the castle walls and the Coach House, and where to find a quiet corner for the two of you. We photograph the day as it happens, with relaxed portraits in between, and we plan the timings around the light.
Still deciding on the venue itself? Our Lissanoure Castle wedding venue guide covers the good, the not so good and our favourite photo spots.
One wedding a day, so the whole estate is yours.

Photography at Lissanoure Castle
Every corner of Lissanoure, captured
Lissanoure gives us castle walls, an ivy covered gatehouse, a lake and open parkland, all with no other wedding on site. Here are the places we use on your wedding day and why each one matters.
The Castle Walls
The ceremony space between the castle walls has a glass roof, so you keep the stone and the daylight whatever the weather does. We photograph your ceremony quietly from the sides and behind, so we capture the faces and the reactions without getting in the way, and the old walls make a lovely backdrop for the confetti afterwards.
The Clock Tower and Archways
The ivy covered clock tower gatehouse and the old stone archways are close to the castle and give us some of the best portrait backdrops on the estate. They work in sunshine and they work in rain, when umbrellas and old stone make moody, atmospheric photographs.
The Coach House and Castle Barn
The Coach House has a bridal bedroom overlooking the courtyard, which is the getting ready space on site, and we usually arrive around 9.30am for the bridal preparations. The Coach House and the Castle Barn host the receptions, and we stay with you through the speeches, the first dance and the party.
The Garden, Lake and Parkland
There is a garden with a gazebo, a lake with a bench at the water's edge and open parkland with big old trees. No wedding day has time for all of it, so we plan around the light, the weather and your timings, and choose the spots that suit you best.
Real weddings at Lissanoure
See our work at Lissanoure Castle
Every wedding at Lissanoure is different. Some couples marry between the castle walls, others at the church or in the Coach House, and the Northern Irish weather has a say in all of them. These are three days we photographed here, so you can see how we work.
Each one is told from the getting ready and the ceremony to the portraits around the estate, all edited in the same natural, true to life style. Click any photo to see the whole day.
Between the castle walls, in the Coach House, or at All Saints Church at the estate entrance. We plan your photography around the space you choose and the way you want the day to feel.
The castle wall ceremony space is covered, and the Coach House and Castle Barn keep the day going indoors. We agree a wet weather plan with you beforehand, and some of our favourite images come from grey days.
Lissanoure hosts one wedding a day, so we can use the castle walls, the lake and the parkland without working around anyone else.
What our couples say
Kind words from Lissanoure couples
What a couple who got married at Lissanoure Castle say about having Tommy and Laurene photograph their day.
We organised our wedding from London and Tommy and Laurene were an absolute pleasure to work with, even from a distance. Great communication, very professional, and so easy to get on with, even though we didn’t meet in person until the big day.
Tommy and Laurene put both of us and our families totally at ease throughout the wedding day, and we are thrilled with the number and quality of our wedding photos. Thoroughly recommend!
Frequently asked questions
Your Lissanoure questions answered
The things couples ask us most about photography at Lissanoure Castle. If yours is not here, send us a message or have a look at our wedding FAQ.
Do you know the best spots for photos at Lissanoure Castle?
Yes. We know the castle walls and archways, the clock tower gatehouse, the garden with its gazebo, the lake and the open parkland with its big old trees. We plan which spots to use around your timings and the light, so you do not have to think about it on the day. Our Lissanoure Castle venue guide shows some of our favourites.
Can we have an outdoor ceremony at Lissanoure Castle?
The ceremony space between the castle walls is covered by a glass roof, so it feels outdoors while keeping the weather off. You can also marry in the Coach House or at All Saints Church at the entrance to the estate. We photograph any of them, and we talk through the layout and the light with you beforehand.
What happens if it rains on our wedding day at Lissanoure?
The ceremony space in the castle walls is covered, and the Coach House and Castle Barn keep the day going indoors. We agree a wet weather plan with you beforehand so nothing is a surprise, and rain often gives us moody, atmospheric portraits under umbrellas and in the old stone archways.
Can we get ready at Lissanoure Castle on the morning of our wedding?
Yes. The bridal bedroom in the Coach House is the getting ready space on site. We usually arrive around 9.30am to capture the bridal preparations, then spend time with the groom and groomsmen later in the morning.
How far in advance should we book?
As early as you can. We only take on a limited number of weddings each year, and Lissanoure hosts one wedding a day, so popular dates go quickly. If you have your date, send us a message and we will check it straight away.
Will there be two photographers at our Lissanoure wedding?
Yes. Tommy and Laurene photograph every wedding together as a husband and wife team. One of us can be with the bride and the other with the groom in the morning, and during the day we capture the moments you would otherwise miss.
Is there more than one wedding at Lissanoure on the same day?
According to the venue, no. Lissanoure hosts one wedding a day, so the whole estate is yours. It makes photography easier, because we can use any part of the grounds without working around another group.
Have you photographed weddings at Lissanoure Castle before?
Yes. You can read about Hannah and Mark, Hannah and Julian and Hannah and Tobi's micro wedding above. Our venue guide has more about how a wedding day works here, including a timeline.
