Lissanoure Castle Wedding | Hannah + Tobi

Hannah and Tobi got married at the stunning Lissanoure Castle in Loughguile on the 17th of May. Their beautiful wedding ceremony, filled with love and laughter, along with their reception, both took place at the venue.

These guys chose to have a smaller, more intimate wedding with just their closest family and friends gathered on the day to celebrate with them. This close-knit gathering truly highlighted their meaningful relationships. They also have plans for a second larger wedding celebration in Croatia, which adds an exciting twist to their love story.

Micro weddings are so popular now and they are always fun for us to photograph. It has been a while since we have worked at Lissanoure Castle so we were excited to return again and experience photographing a wedding in the new outdoor ceremony space.

We arrived at the venue a bit early, allowing us ample time to check out the beautiful setting where the ceremony was taking place. We were immediately impressed with how perfect this location is for those couples who prefer to have a smaller wedding ceremony. The fact that the area is covered adds an extra layer of charm, making it possible for couples to get married here and experience that awesome outdoor ceremony vibe. They can do so here without having to worry about the unpredictable Northern Irish weather not playing ball on their special day.

The weather wasn’t a concern at all on this beautiful day, though, as it was one of the warmest days of the year so far, with the sun shining brightly high in the sky for the entire duration of the day. The good weather created a lovely atmosphere that contributed to the overall celebration.

With arriving a bit early it also allowed us to have a quick look around for areas we could use after the ceremony so that we could avoid the high sun for portraits. We ran into an Tobi while looking around who was as chilled a groom as we have come across.

Hannah arrived in plenty of time before the ceremony and walked down the aisle to bubbles and lots of excitement from family and friends. These guys opted for a Humanist wedding ceremony that included both a traditional handfasting ceremony and the drinking of the Quaich.

With the ceremony being in the late afternoon we were under a bit of time pressure to get everything we needed before the guys were called in for dinner but as we know the venue well and with the areas we wanted to use being close by, we were able to get everything finished up exactly on time. Even with the time pressure this was very much a chilled out day, more intimate weddings in our experience often are. Hannah and Toibi were both fantastic company, bringing great craic and joyful energy. The staff at the venue also played a crucial role in helping to ensure that everything ran smoothly and seamlessly throughout the entire day.
