Lissanoure Castle Wedding | Hannah & Julian

Hannah & Julian got married on the 27th of July at Lissanoure Castle on the North Coast. We have been looking forward to this one for a while as this was our first wedding here.  Because the venue was new to us we visited a while back to have a quick look around and by the time the big day arrived we might have been nearly as excited as Hannah & Julian.

On the morning of the wedding we met up with everyone at Hannah’s Mum & Dad’s home in Limavady. We were so excited to be a wedding photographer in Limavady for the day. The morning flew in and it seemed in no time at all we where on our way to the venue. We would like to give a special thanks to Hannah’s Mum & Dad, Kathy & Noel for making us both feel so welcome. By the time we left for Lissanoure Castle we felt that we had been adopted into the family.

Lissanoure Castle is a pretty special venue, steeped in history there has been a castle here since the early 1300’s and it is located in a beautiful part of the country. We can absolutely see why Hannah & Julian made their way home from London to get married here. We weren’t at the venue for too long when Hannah, her bridesmaids and parents arrived in a beautiful VW camper van. She actually arrived a little too early and we had to run out and ask her to wait for a few minutes while the staff at Lissanoure moved all the guests into the room that was being used for the ceremony.

Hannah & Julian decided to break with normal wedding tradition and arranged to see each other just before the ceremony to share a quick moment together before making their way in to the ceremony room to get married. The ceremony itself was very relaxed and fun and there were lots of laughs throughout.

After the ceremony the guys struggled to get away from their guests for photographs which meant that we had a little less time than we would have liked to get everything done and still stick to the venue’s strict timetable. So, we planned with Hannah & Julian to shoot some stuff later in the evening after their meal as well. Where possible, especially at this time of the year we always give our couples the option of doing another little mini session with them anyway as the light later in the evening can be so much better.

After the speeches and meal, we went for a quick walk around the venue with Hannah & Julian and we really enjoyed that little bit of time we spent with them. Once back at the venue it was time for the first dance. Hannah & Julian decided to break with normal wedding tradition again and invited all of their family & friends up to the dance floor to join them straight away.

This was an awesome wedding and we loved that Hannah & Julian broke with some wedding traditions and did everything how they wanted. We know it is more difficult for couples making all of the arrangements for their wedding while living further afield but with a little help from their family and friends Hannah & Julian pulled off the perfect wedding day.
