On the 6th of July we photographed Jennifer & George’s wedding. The ceremony took place at Belfast City Mission, we spent some time shooting portraits at Stormont Estate and the reception was held at the Stormont Hotel in Belfast. As a Belfast wedding photographer we love using the estate when shooting portraits for Stormont Hotel weddings.

On the morning of the wedding we met up with Jennifer at her Mum and Dad’s home in Dundonald to grab a few photos of everyone getting ready. We bumped into a familiar face here as Jennifer had chosen Rebecca Saulters to be her make up artist. Rebecca was the bridesmaid and make up artist at one of our other recent weddings. Once everyone was nearly ready we made our way over to Belfast City Mission for the ceremony to meet up with George.

Stormont Hotel Wedding Photos

Belfast City Mission wouldn’t usually be used for weddings but it has special meaning for Jennifer and George as it’s their local church and Jennifer’s grandad used to be the Minister here. We thought it was nice to include a personal part of their lives in the ceremony in this way and Jennifer’s grandad even said a few words at the end of the ceremony.

After the ceremony we met up with up with everyone again at Stormont estate. On the lead up to the wedding there had been a few concerns about using the grounds at Stormont estate. When Jennifer & George contacted them to confirm the arrangements they had been told there was a planned protest outside the main building on the day of the wedding.

As it turned out though there was no need to worry as we seen no signs of this when we arrived. The grounds around parliament buildings at Stormont are somewhere we know very well having worked here many times before. If you are having your wedding reception at the Stormont Hotel this is the ideal place to go for photographs as the hotel is just across the road. Once we had grabbed a few family and bridal party photos we spent a little time with Jennifer & George and we really enjoyed getting to know them both a little better and as you can see from the photos we had a lot of fun.
