Tullyglass Hotel Wedding: Anna and Jürgen's Unforgettable Celebration

On the 24th of July we spent the day with Anna and Jürgen. These guys live in Austria and had already done the legal bit of their wedding over there, before arriving in Northern Ireland. Anna is originally from Northern Ireland so wanted to come home to share all that wedding magic with her family and friends here.

The day started off in Ballyclare, at Anna's mum and dad’s home. Anna and her bridesmaids were getting ready there, the atmosphere was filled with laughter and joy. It was the perfect setting to capture those candid and intimate moments that make getting ready for a wedding day so special.

As the ceremony commenced at the River of Life Church in Ballyclare, we found ourselves captivated by the deeply personal touches that Anna and Jurgen had incorporated into their special day. Now, what made this ceremony truly unique was that Anna and Jürgen had already tied the knot in Austria. So instead of the usual wedding vows, they decided to read love letters they had written to each other. Can you imagine how heartfelt and emotional that was? There wasn't a dry eye in the church. It was also a special moment for Anna’s dad who unfortunately due to ill health wasn’t able to make it to Austria for the legal part of their wedding. It was a lovely moment when he got to walk Anna down the aisle The guys stepped out of the church to handfuls of confetti thrown by their family and friends.

Tullyglass House Hotel Wedding Photos

After the ceremony, we all headed to the Tullyglass House Hotel in Ballymena for the wedding reception. On arriving at the hotel, we stole Anna & Jürgen away for some photos around the hotel’s picturesque grounds. It has actually been a little while since we last photographed a wedding at Tullyglass, but everything was just as we remembered it. Anna and Jurgen were both loads of fun.

With some of the guests not speaking English we wondered on the lead up to this one if that would cause any issues, but all went well. We had the bridal party and family photographs all completed in time for Anna & Jürgen to enjoy some mingling time with their guest before being called inside for the speeches.

The speeches were all completed in a mixture of German and English with translations being shown on a slideshow for those that weren’t bilingual. Both Anna and Jürgen both speak English and German perfectly and were able to jump between both languages seamlessly. During dinner there was a special surprise as the singing waiter arrived and put on an amazing show which everyone enjoyed.

After dinner we sneaked away with Anna and Jürgen for a few minutes to grab a few more photos before heading back inside for the dancing.

All in all, it was an incredible experience being able to capture Anna and Jürgen's special day. The love and happiness radiating from them was infectious, and we feel so grateful that we could be a part of it all. It's moments like these that remind us why we love being wedding photographers in Northern Ireland. There's just something magical about seeing two people coming together to celebrate their love with their family and friends.
