About the venue
A quiet estate with room to breathe
Glenpark Estate is just outside Omagh in Co. Tyrone, on the site of the former Ulster History Park. It sits in a peaceful rural setting of mature trees, lawns and open land, with a stone walled courtyard and a purpose built wedding pavilion, and it feels secluded without being remote.
We have photographed weddings here and the estate is known locally for its events and for its food. This guide covers the good, the not so good and the best places for photos, from what we have seen on real days.

The advantages and disadvantages of Glenpark Estate
Every venue has good points and things to plan around. This is what we have noticed from photographing weddings here.
Advantages
- Only one wedding takes place each day, so you have the estate to yourselves and you are not sharing the wedding space with anyone else. That means privacy for the full day, and fewer interruptions and distractions.
- The purpose built wedding pavilion can host up to 180 guests, and the estate also offers a stone walled courtyard and woodland settings, so there is a lot to work with.
- You can choose an outdoor or an indoor ceremony, and the layout and styling are flexible, so the day can feel personal to you rather than a set formula.
- The grounds are full of natural scenery for photos, with gardens, woodland and courtyards, and the estate is peaceful without being remote.
- The food is a real strength. The estate is well known locally for it, and for the events it holds throughout the year.
- You can stay on site, with 7 hotel rooms plus a woodland lodge, a shepherds hut and static caravans, and it is close to Omagh and the Fermanagh Lakelands.
Disadvantages
- Public transport is limited, so most guests will need a car or a taxi. If many of your guests are travelling from outside the Omagh area, think about shared transport and check parking with the venue.
- Accommodation is limited. There are 7 rooms, plus the shepherds huts and caravans, so a larger wedding party will need to book other places to stay nearby.
- It is a fairly long walk from the main building to the wedding pavilion for anyone with mobility issues. The venue does provide transport for the main movement of guests, so it is worth asking about it for anyone who needs it.
- Parts of the day are outdoors, so the weather matters. We always plan a wet weather option with you, and Emma and Sam moved their ceremony indoors on the day when storms were forecast.
- It is a rural estate rather than a hotel, so the setting is more relaxed and less formal. For couples who want a traditional hotel feel, it may feel different.
- Winter weddings are beautiful, but daylight is short, so the timings for portraits need careful planning to make the most of the light.

With only one wedding a day, we can use the whole estate without working around anyone else.
These are the places we use most, and we are always happy to talk them through with you before the day.
The wedding pavilion
The pavilion is the heart of the day, with room for up to 180 guests. We photograph the ceremony and the reception quietly from the sides, and use the space around it for the arrival, the confetti and the first moments as a married couple.
The stone walled courtyard
The courtyard has stone walls and old stone buildings in mature woodland, which give us lovely texture and character for portraits. Doorways and arches make natural frames, and it is a good place to use if the weather turns.
Woodland paths and lawns
The estate has mature trees, well kept lawns and woodland paths, so we can find a quiet corner for relaxed, natural portraits away from your guests. It is easy to vary the backdrop without going far.
Planning around the estate
It is a big estate and the walk from the main building to the pavilion is a long one, so we plan the order of locations around the light, your timings and how your guests will move. We talk it through with you before the day.

A Glenpark Estate wedding day timeline
Every wedding is different, but this is how a Glenpark Estate day with a 1pm ceremony might run. It gives you time for photos in the grounds without anyone feeling rushed, and still gets you back to your guests.
Golden hour moves a lot through the year in Northern Ireland, so we plan your evening light photos around your date. Daylight is shorter in autumn and winter, so for those dates we plan the portraits earlier. It is worth talking the timings through with us before the day.
