Jungle N.I Wedding | Kiera + Joel

Kiera & Joel got married on the 24th of August with their ceremony taking place at Our Lady of Assumption in Magherafelt, and their wedding reception being held at the Jungle N.I which is also in Magherafelt.

We first met Kiera & Joel when we photographed their engagement session at Tollymore Forest Park in Newcastle a while back. Kiera and Joel live in Birmingham so Northern Ireland might seem an odd choice with all the extra hassle getting married here involved for them. However, they met each for the first time at a mutual friend’s wedding here and it is somewhere they visit often so while it made planning their wedding a little more difficult, it was very much something that they both wanted to do.

Kiera and Joel along with some of their family and friends made their way over from Birmingham the week before the wedding so that they could sort out all of their final arrangements for the big day. They hired a holiday cottage in Maghera for the week and that is where we met up Kiera and her bridesmaids on the morning of the wedding to photograph all of the ladies getting ready. These guys had a big bridal party so it was a very busy house on the morning of the wedding as everyone got ready. Kiera was a little emotional after receiving a special gift from Joel, but her bridesmaids did a great job of keeping her relaxed. Once everyone was ready, we headed off to meet up with Joel.

On arriving at the chapel, we found Joel inside who was in top form. After grabbing a few photographs with the rest of the guys we waited for Kiera to arrive. As it turned out Kiera ended up running a bit late and Joel bless him was a nervous wreck by the time the ladies pulled up at the door. The priest on the day was really good fun and kept everyone amused though while we waited.

After the ceremony we left for the Jungle N.I which isn’t your typical wedding venue but was perfect for the day that Kiera and Joel wanted. On arriving we made our way into the forest with Kiera and Joel for their bride and groom portraits, we had a fair bit less time than expected as the wedding timeline was running behind and the guys wanted to spend as much time as possible with their guests. The forest worked great though for the type of photographs Kiera & Joel wanted. Once we returned from the forest, we grabbed a few photos of Kiera and Joel’s family and the bridal party.

After dinner we photographed the speeches which were all good fun and we thought that Joel in particular did very well. After the guys had cut their cake, everyone was taken on a hay ride deep into the forest to the building that was used for the evening entertainment.
