Temple of the Winds at Mount Stewart Wedding | Brooke + James
Brooke and James got married on the 14th of September at The Temple of the Winds at Mount Stewart, with their wedding reception being held at the Crowne Plaza in Belfast.
We first met Brooke & James when they booked us to photograph their wedding and got to know them both a bit better when we photographed their engagement session at Bangor Walled Gardens.
Brooke and James have just recently moved into their new home and it was there we met up with Brooke, her Mum and her bridesmaids on the morning of the wedding. We loved seeing some of the photographs from our engagement session proudly displayed on the wall. Brooke’s hair stylist arrived a little earlier than expected and as one of her bridesmaids did everyone’s make up, they were all nearly ready when we arrived. What a fun morning this was, Brooke was so excited and enthusiastic for the day ahead and her and the rest of the ladies were just a pleasure to spend some time with.
Once everyone had finished getting ready, we made our way over to The Temple of the Winds at Mount Stewart to meet up with James and his groomsmen before the ceremony. James looked a little more nervous than Brooke, but no less excited. This was the first time we have photographed a wedding ceremony here although we have visited Mount Stewart many times before for other things. The ceremony room itself isn’t the biggest and as James and Brooke had 2 videographers as well as ourselves it meant that we couldn’t move around as much as we would usually do, but it was all good. One of the videographers was actually a friend of Brooke’s and both of them were good to work with on the day.
After the ceremony we made our way to the beautiful gardens at Mount Stewart to grab a few bridal party and family photos. Everyone was really good fun and it is such a great location, we where able to get these done in no time at all. We then got to spend some quality time with Brooke & James. We have to give a special thanks here to the wedding team at Mount Stewart who did a great job of showing us around and keeping us away from the general public on what was a very busy day at the venue.
Once we had finished, we headed of the Crowne Plaza for the wedding reception. The speeches all went well and dinner was lovely. Way back when we first met Brooke & James, they had asked us for a recommendation for a wedding D.J and we recommended Skip Alexander, who we had met at a few other weddings. We have bumped into Skip many other times since then and from our point of view it’s always good to see him as it always guarantee’s a full dance floor and a fun evening. James & Brooke’s first dance lasted all of about 30 seconds, until the bridal party jumped on and then everyone else. It was good to see everyone up on the dance floor enjoying themselves.
There so many things we loved about this wedding, James & Brooke’s love of travel and sunflowers shined throughout the wedding, with everything from Brooke’s converse to the table decorations and bouquets fitting in with the theme. They also had an epic wedding cake that fitted in with their theme as well.
