La Mon Hotel Wedding | Jenny + Michael
Jenny & Michael got married and held their wedding reception at the La Mon Hotel & Country Club on the 1st of August.
On the morning of the wedding we met up with Jenny and her bridesmaids at her Mum & Dad’s home in Lisburn. Being based in Lisburn ourselves this meant a short 2-minute journey for us. As you would expect everyone was excited for the day ahead and as so often happens, the morning seemed to fly by and in no time at all it seemed, it was time to head off for the ceremony.
On arriving at La Mon Hotel and Country Club, we met up with Michael and his groomsmen. At a lot our recent weddings we have noticed that the grooms seemed more nervous about the day ahead than the brides but Michael looked pretty calm and relaxed before the ceremony, a couple of quick pints at the hotel bar beforehand probably helped.
Jenny & Michael had their wedding ceremony in the hotels Riverview Suite which has beautiful large windows at the front of the room making our job a lot easier in terms of available light. During the ceremony we noticed Michaels Mum shedding a few tears and before the end of the ceremony Jenny had shed a few tears of her own.
It’s always special for us to photograph a wedding at the La Mon Hotel as we got married there ourselves. Every time we photograph a wedding at La Mon, it brings back some great memories of our own wedding day. There have been quite a few changes to the hotel since our own wedding, but it’s also nice to see that some things have remained the same. The area we used for a lot of Jenny & Michael’s bride and groom portraits is where we had our own outdoor wedding ceremony.
As Jenny & Michael had a late afternoon ceremony, we split our time with them to before and after the speeches and dinner. The guys lovely daughter Emily was a bit photo reluctant for a lot of the day as young kids can sometimes be, but we managed to win her over later in the evening.
Jenny & Michael’s wedding throughout the day had very much a family feel, they even shared their first dance with Emily. Jenny’s grandad even made an unscripted appearance on the dance floor during the first dance too.
