Larchfield Estate Wedding | Hazel + Kevin

On the 8th of May, Larchfield Estate in Lisburn was the setting for Hazel and Kevin’s epic wedding day. With both the wedding ceremony and reception taking place at the always amazing Larchfield Estate and with such a fun group of people to document, this was a great day to be a wedding photographer in Northern Ireland.

Hazel got ready from her and Kevin’s home which is only a couple of minutes away from us, so we didn’t have the usual long journey for getting ready that we are used too, which was a nice bonus. It was a very busy house for getting ready with 4 bridesmaids and 4 flower girls including Hazel & Kevin’s beautiful little girls Grace and Ivy. This was a house filled not just with people, but loads of laughter, fun and excitement.

Wedding photography at Larchfield Estate

We met up with Kevin and the rest of the guys at Larchfield Estate just before the ceremony. The guys had planned for an outdoor ceremony in the beautiful gardens but the weather forecast was adamant that there was going to be thunder, lightning and heavy rain so the ceremony was moved indoors. As it turned out the weather was perfect, pretty much all day.

Hazel’s dad performed the actual ceremony making it so much more special and personal for Hazel and Kevin, he is a really friendly guy and kept everyone entertained until Hazel and the girls arrived. We would happily have him come to all of our weddings! As part of the ceremony the guys shared a hand fasting celebration. As they kissed, the guests erupted into cheers, and the newlyweds walked back down the aisle, hand in hand, as husband and wife.

After the ceremony we headed out for a walk around the picturesque grounds around Larchfield with Hazel and Kevin. Every time we have worked at Larhfield Estate it has looked spectacular and this day was no different. Larchfield is one of our favourite venues to work at, it is for most wedding photographers. There are so many great places for photography here and everything is close by as well.

Hazel and Kevin were a dream to work with, they had a couple of places they wanted to stop at for some photos and the rest they left up to us. They gave us lots of time as well which meant we could take full advantage of the beautiful surroundings.

On arriving back to the main gardens, we stopped at the spot where the ceremony would have taken place if not for the weather forecast, for some photos with the bridal party who were all good fun. The guys then made their way around to the main courtyard so that they could spend some quality time with their family and friends.

After the speeches and dinner, we whisked Hazel and Kevin away for a few minutes for some more photos before heading back inside for the dancing. After the first dance Hazel hit up the dance floor with for an energetic dance with her dad before everyone else joined in.
