Unveiling the Magic of Sparkler Photos at Northern Ireland Wedding Venues
In the realm of capturing the most enchanting moments of your wedding day, sparkler photos or sparkler exits as they are sometimes known have emerged as a popular wedding trend, adding an extra layer of magic to your cherished memories. With their radiant glow and vibrant energy, sparkler photos are taking the Northern Ireland wedding scene by storm. In this comprehensive guide, we delve into the art of capturing sparkler photos at Northern Ireland wedding venues, helping you create captivating memories that will outshine the rest.
As wedding photographers in Northern Ireland, we have captured lots of sparkler exits for our couples. Sparkler exits can be a fun way to engage with your guests before you hit up the dance floor for your first dance and can make for some interesting photographs. Sparklers however can also be dangerous and it’s important to keep in mind safety at all times when using them.
Did you know that some wedding venues in Northern Ireland, do not allow sparklers to be used?
Before you go ahead and purchase sparklers for your wedding day its important to have a chat with the wedding co-ordinator at your venue and confirm with them that the venue will allow you to use them.
Did you know that not every wedding photographer in Northern Ireland will agree to photographing a sparkler exit?
Due to the safety concerns around the use of sparklers some wedding photographers in N.I won’t agree to photographing a sparkler exit as they have literally “been burnt in the past”. While we have been lucky not to be injured ourselves, we have seen guests get injured and brides dresses and grooms suits get burned. So, safety needs to be a top priority at all times. Have a chat with your wedding photographer in plenty of time before the big day to ensure that they are happy with the risk involved in documenting this moment and take their advice on the best location to use.
All sparklers are not the same and its important to choose the right ones for your wedding day.
When buying sparklers for use at your wedding its important to buy the right ones. There are lots of sparklers specifically designed for wedding use that you can buy online. These will be longer than usual and burn slower so are a little bit safer. Don’t be tempted to buy cheap Halloween style sparklers!
Who lights the wedding sparklers?
At some venues in Northern Ireland the wedding co-ordinator on the day will do this for you. At other venues you will have to pass this job to one of your guests. Make sure you choose someone responsible for this job! The easiest way to light them quickly is to use a kitchen butane powered cooking torch. Light them one at a time, lighting multiple sparklers at the same time is very dangerous and always read the instructions carefully.
It is important to choose the right location and the amount of people involved!
Make sure you choose a location that has enough room for you to walk through without risk of injury. Choose the amount of people involved based on the location. Usually, a sparkler exit will happen later in the evening before the dancing and people may have been drinking all day and be less sensitive to the risks involved. Limiting the amount of people involved can help reduce the risk of injury.
Tips!
Ensure guest’s don’t point sparklers at each other, at you or at your wedding photographer!
Ensure sparklers are not lit near people clothes, faces or hair!
Ensure there is somewhere safe to dispose of the sparklers after use, most venues that allow sparkler exits have a safety bucket of sand or water, double check that your venue can provide this!
Provide everyone participating two sparklers so that they don’t burn out before you pass.
Add some drama to the photos from your sparkler exit by stopping mid way and sharing a kiss or get your hands in the air and encourage everyone to cheer!
