For us we always provide our couples with their wedding photographs within 4-6 weeks during the busiest parts of the year and can be even quicker during the rest of the year.

In the last couple of years, a lot of wedding photographers in Northern Ireland have switched to using automated A.I culling and editing software. Using this software an entire wedding can be culled and edited within just a few hours.

There are some advantages to this, firstly photographers that use A.I software can turnaround a wedding in no time at all. A.I software also allows photographers who don’t have their own defined style to download profiles created by other more skilled photographers that then edits their images in that photographers particular editing style, making their work look better than it actually is.

Why do we not use A.I editing software?

While we can see the advantages of using A.I software for us there is also some major disadvantages. Firstly the A.I culling process can often miss or exclude good quality images which means the couples never get to see them. Often these can be from important parts of the day. As wedding photographers we always strive to tell the story of our couples wedding day as it happened, however if some moments are missed that takes away form that.

Having photographed weddings for over a decade we very much have our own style of working and also editing our images, which A.I software struggles to replicate well enough for us to consider using it. We have seen other wedding photographers level of work deteriorate, in some cases dramatically once they switched to using A.I software. Wedding photographers that use A.I software for culling editing can take on a lot more weddings as their workload is significantly reduced. However for us we would rather take on less work that allows us to stick to our normal delivery timescales and produce better photographs for our couples than use A.I software that would allow us to take more booking but lowers the standard of work we produce.
