Victoria + Aaron's summer wedding at the Leighinmohr House Hotel
Victoria and Aaron said “I do!” in a heartfelt ceremony on the 14th of July at the popular Leighinmohr House Hotel in Ballymena. Surrounded by their family and friends, they celebrated their marriage with a joyous reception at the same venue.
On the way to meet up with Victoria and her bridesmaids for getting ready, we made a quick stop to capture some moments with Aaron and his groomsmen before the big day. The excitement and anticipation were palpable as we began documenting the beginning of this beautiful journey towards matrimony.
Victoria had been through a major operation recently and was still feeling a bit ill from the after effects of that, but was some how able to put that aside for the day so that she could make the most of the wedding. These guys are true childhood sweethearts who met during their school years. Their relationship blossomed from that first encounter at school to Aaron mustering up the courage to ask Victoria to their school formal for their first ever date.

On arriving at the Leighinmohr Hotel we met up again with Aaron and his groomsmen which also included his siter who was also one of the groomsmen or should we say groomslady for the day! It was easy to see how excited Aaron was for what was to come. Victoria and the girls arrived shortly after just as excited as Aaron had been.
These guys chose to have a humanist wedding ceremony which was officiated by Claire Shearer who we have met at weddings before, so it was nice to catch up with her before the ceremony. As welling as telling everyone how Victoria and Aaron met and their love story up until the wedding day, Claire also performed one of the oldest wedding traditions as the guys shared a handfasting ceremony and officialy tied the knot.
The guys broke with an old school tradition and instead of cutting their wedding cake after dinner, cut it at the end of the wedding ceremony before walking back down the aisle.
Wedding photos at the Leighinmohr Hotel
After the ceremony we made our way to the Leighinmohr Hotel’s garden area for some portraits with Victoria and Aaron. As this is a small area we would usually advise going elsewhere for portraits with the couple when shooting weddings here, but with Victoria’s recent health issues, staying at the venue was the best choice. The guy’s did great as you can see from the photos!
After capturing some beautiful moments with Victoria and Aaron, we were thrilled to be joined by the lively bridal party and both of their families. With the portraits safely secured, our bride and groom enjoyed ample time mingling with their guests, soaking in the fun atmosphere before the call for dinner and the speeches.
One of the most fun parts of the day though was yet to come! Way back when Victoria and Aaron booked us to photograph their wedding we had spoken about their plan’s for the day and recommended local D.J Dave Ralston. The guys decided to go with our recommendation and Dave provided an amazing night of entertainment. As Dave got set up we ran a photo rush, this is when each table gets 30 seconds for a quick photo with the couple. Dave then hyped up the crowd with some pre first dance Karaoke, which even though some of the singing was a bit suspect was great fun. The first dance itself was also a bit of a ruse as after only a minute it was cut to Bits N Pieces and the place absolutely erupted as everyone hit up the dance floor. Dave had the Leighinmohr jumping all night long!
