Tullyglass Hotel Wedding | Emma + John
Emma and John celebrated their love by getting married on the 1st of August. Their wedding ceremony was held at the charming St. Joseph’s chapel, located in the quaint village of Glenavy. Following the ceremony, the couple hosted their elegant wedding reception in the stunning Tullyglass House Hotel, situated in Ballymena.
We first met Emma and John when we photographed their engagement session at Antrim Castle gardens back in April. On the beautiful morning of the wedding, we met up with Emma, her lovely bridesmaids, and her supportive mum at her and John’s home in Glenavy. As you would expect, the morning was a lively hive of activity as the girls enthusiastically went through their hair and make-up preparation, each one filled with excitement and anticipation for the special day ahead.
Once the girls were ready we made our way over to St. Joseph’s chapel to meet up with John and to get ready for the start of the wedding ceremony. While the guys had checked with their priest about photography restrictions during the ceremony and were told that none were in place, on arrival we were given quite a few, but that is sometimes how it goes. The ceremony itself was very traditional and the quaint little old school chapel made really added to the ceremony vibe.

After the ceremony we made for the Tullyglass Hotel. We know this hotel very well having shot lots of other weddings here. This hotel often hosts two weddings on the same day and that was the case on this day as well. While the staff at the hotel tried to keep both weddings apart, there was a fair bit of overspill and at one point we had to ask the photographer from the other wedding to leave the space that was allocated for our use, which was a little annoying but easily resolved. Emma and John got held up in traffic on the way to the venue and arrived later than expected, which meant we had to go into full rush mode to make sure that we got everything we needed. As we already knew from their engagement session Emma and John are great to work with, while we had to work fast due to time limits it was still good fun.
Once we got everything we needed with Emma and John, we gathered the bridal party and began capturing some stuff with them, alongside Emma and John’s family members. It was a truly beautiful day, filled with warmth and joy, and everyone was in great spirits, radiating happiness as they celebrated this special occasion together. We just about managed to get everything done with a few minutes to spare before everyone was called inside for the speeches. The speeches themselves for this one were special, as well as giving a speech John serenaded his new wife and his best men did an awesome routine based around Laurel and Hardy.

After dinner, it was still such a beautiful evening, so we decided to grab Emma and John for another brief 10 minutes to make use of some of the picturesque areas we hadn’t had time to explore earlier in the day. It was a lovely opportunity to capture more of their joyful moments together and to spend a little more time with them both.
Back inside it was time for the dancing. The Professionals were on stage for this one and didn’t disappoint! They did a great job of getting everyone riled up and ready for the Emma and John’s first dance. Then it was John’s turn to grab the microphone again and to sing as Emma took to the dancefloor for a dance with her Dad. As you can imagine this made what is always a beautiful part of a wedding day even more special, John is a very talented guy! Immediately after, everyone else hit up the dance floor to party the night away.
