Drenagh Estate Wedding | Julieanne + Dave

Julieanne & Dave got married on the 17th of March at Drenagh Country Estate in Limavady. Both the wedding ceremony and the reception took place at the venue.

We were very excited for this one, Drenagh is one of our favourite wedding venues and we knew from our chats with Julieanne on the lead up to the wedding that this was going to be a wedding day to remember. We were super excited to be a Limavady wedding photographer for this amazing celebration. Julieanne was super organised for the wedding but her main thoughts were to ensure that all of her guests and even her vendors had an amazing day and she absolutely delivered!

Drenagh Wedding Photos

Julieanne and her bridesmaids arrived at Drenagh Country Estate early in the morning to get ready, Dave and his groomsmen not needing as much getting ready time, arrived a little later on. As a special treat for the wedding morning one of Julieanne’s bridesmaids had arranged for an absolutely amazing breakfast to be provided while they got ready. There were so many familiar faces at this wedding, we felt very much at home. We knew the make-up artist from previous weddings, the videographers on the day are guys we have worked with many times before and who we had recommended to Julieanne. Dave & Julieanne had decided on having a Humanist wedding ceremony and we know Stewart Holden their Humanist celebrant having met him many times before at weddings. It was also nice to catch up with some of the staff we had met at Drenagh on our last visit.

The ceremony took place in the Moon Garden, which is always looks absolutely stunning on a wedding day. The guys were so lucky with the weather, just before the ceremony it absolutely poured down and there was a last-minute panic to try and find enough umbrellas for Julieanne and her bridesmaids to walk down to the Moon Garden. However, just as they were about to walk out the door the rain cleared and the umbrellas weren’t needed at all. It was such a beautiful ceremony, Julieanne danced her way up the aisle and Stewart shared some beautiful words about the couple as well as performing a hand fasting. We also loved how Julieanne & Dave included their daughters in the ceremony. Two lovely kids who were really good fun to spend the day with.

Wedding Photography at Drenagh

After the ceremony we made our way back up to the main house as the guys had decided they wanted to cut their wedding cake early. After the cake was cut and with a giant sword no less, we made our way back down to the Moon Garden with Julieanne & Dave for their bride & groom portraits. One slight disappointment was that the beautiful sunken garden at Drenagh was unable to be used due to some essential building work, but the grounds around the venue at Drenagh are wonderful so it wasn’t difficult to find other places to use. While we were away Julieanne & Dave’s guests were entertained by live music in the main hall and casino games. The roulette table in particular looked to be really popular with their guests.

Once we were finished up the guys had a bit of time to chill out and chat with their guests before everyone made their way down the Marquee for the wedding reception. The speeches all went well, we know that Dave was a little nervous about his, but he did very well.

All day there was a bit of talk about who was the best dancer between Julieanne & Dave. During his best man’s speech Dave’s brother called for a dance off between the two of them. We weren’t there for the dancing at this wedding but Julieanne has told us she won easily and that it wasn’t even close!
