Killeavy Castle Wedding | Diana + Marian
Diana and Marian’s wedding took place at Killeavy Castle Estate on the 30th of April, but you could easily be fooled into thinking it was the height of summer due to the unusually great weather on the day.
For the bride getting ready we met up with Diana at her and Marian’s home in Newry. Their was plenty of family around at the house as well, including Diana and Marian’s, 1 year old son Enzo. So how does a guy from Slovakia and a girl from Spain end up getting together? Well for these 2 it was love at first sight while serving Big Macs and Fries as they first met and got together while working together at McDonalds.
These guys organised their wedding in a fairly short time frame, keeping everything simple and elegant and choosing to have an intimate ceremony surrounded by the people that mean the most to them. Right from the first time they get in touch with us we could see that they had a very clear idea of what they wanted from their wedding day, and how excited they were.

Spring weddings in Northern Ireland can be unpredictable, but Diana and Marian were gifted exceptional weather for their celebration. The day delivered bright sunshine and warm temperatures from morning until sunset. Guests arrived to clear skies and fresh spring air. The gardens around Killeavy Castle looked vibrant after early spring growth.
The atmosphere felt relaxed immediately. People spent time outdoors before the ceremony, enjoying the scenery and sunshine while moving between the castle grounds and reception spaces. The weather also shaped the overall style of the day. Lighter fabrics, soft floral tones, and open outdoor spaces suited the season perfectly.
The outdoor wedding ceremony took place in front of a beautiful floral arch with views of the local scenery directly facing the entrance to the castle itself. The ceremony itself wasn’t a long one, these guys just wanted to get married and to enjoy the moment and the rest of the day.

After the ceremony with the bright sunshine leaving no room to hide we made for a quieter shaded area on the other side of the estate with the guys. Marian had jokingly told Diana he would have liked some photos with some livestock, (he comes from a farming background) and we even managed to find him some cows.
Diana had told us beforehand that Marian was a bit apprehensive about being photographed (most people are) but he soon relaxed and we managed to win him over. By the time we were getting finished he was suggesting things he would like to have shot.
Back with all of the guests we had plenty of time to get some photos with family and friends and for everyone to have some chill out time before the call for dinner. Diana also nipped off to quickly get changed into her second dress of the day. These guys opted not to have speeches and instead just said a huge big thanks to everyone together as a married couple and it was fantastic.
For couples searching for a luxury wedding venue in Northern Ireland, Killeavy Castle Estate offers a strong combination of countryside scenery, modern comfort, and timeless architecture. This wedding showed how powerful simple choices can become when the setting already provides beauty, atmosphere, and character.
