Wool Tower Wedding | Lynnette + Michael

Lynnette & Michael got married on the 19th of October with both their wedding ceremony and reception taking place at The Wool Tower in Broughshane.

Lynnette & Michael both live in Sheffield but Michael is originally from Northern Ireland so they decided to come back here for their wedding. It always amazes us how couples from a bit further afield are able to plan and execute their wedding without any issues, with so much involved and that was absolutely the case here.

On the morning of the wedding we met up with Lynnette and her bridesmaids at the Stone Flax Mill in Ballymena, which is a guesthouse that was originally built in the 1700’s. This seemed a good choice considering their wedding venue The Wool Tower is also a converted mill. Lynnette seemed very relaxed throughout the morning and it seemed that in no time at all, it was time for us to leave to meet up with Michael and his Dad at The Wool Tower.  Lynnette had arranged to have her dress and flowers left at The Wool Tower so that she could finish getting ready from there. So, on arriving at the venue we tracked down the dress and grabbed a quick photograph before going to find Michael.

The Wool Tower is a unique wedding venue with its own special character, situated inside Raceview Mill. The building itself is over 200 years old and retains many of its original features. The ceremony room has a quarry stone floor, exposed brick walls and the original timber trusses. It was easy to see why Lynette & Michael were so excited to get married here.

Everyone was ready in plenty of time for the ceremony and it was nice to see a few familiar faces, as we have photographed other weddings recently with the same make-up artist, hairstylist and registrar. The music during the ceremony was provided by the Ulster string quartet.

After Lynnette & Michael had said their I do’s, we headed of to explore the grounds around the venue for some Ballymena wedding photos. There was our first visit to The Wool Tower and there are plenty of good opportunities for wedding photographs here. After finishing off Lynnette & Michaels portrait session we made our way to the other side of the venue to round up some of Lynette & Michael’s family and the bridal party for some more photographs.

There was a funny moment during the speeches when after doing his own speech Michael took the microphone back of the best man as there was a few other things he wanted to say, Lynnette also said a few words of her own.
