Millbrook Lodge is a country house hotel in Ballynahinch, Co. Down, in a former rectory that dates back to the 1800s. It sits in 10 acres of gardens, and you can marry in the Wedding Garden or the Courtyard Suite, with the meal, the evening party and the bedrooms all in the same place. The hotel takes one wedding a day.
We have photographed weddings here, so we know how a day flows between the Orangerie, the ceremony spaces, the Courtyard and the gardens. We plan your timings around the light and the weather, and we always agree a wet weather plan with you beforehand.

Millbrook Lodge gives us a lot of variety in one place, from a garden ceremony to a courtyard and an orangerie. Here are the locations we use on your wedding day and why each one matters. For the full picture, read our Millbrook Lodge venue guide.
The Wedding Garden
This is where an outdoor ceremony takes place, weather permitting. We photograph the ceremony quietly from the sides, and use the garden around it for the confetti and the first moments as a married couple.
The Courtyard and Courtyard Suite
The Courtyard Suite is the indoor ceremony option, with the Courtyard just outside. It is a handy place for portraits close to the rooms, and a good choice if the weather turns.
The Gardens
The hotel sits in 10 acres of gardens, and garden photography access is included with the hotel packages. There is plenty of room to find a quiet corner for relaxed, natural portraits away from your guests.
The Orangerie
Your guests arrive and gather in the Orangerie before the ceremony, which makes it a lovely place for candid photographs of everyone catching up. It is a bright room with direct access to the ceremony spaces.

Yes. You can choose an outdoor ceremony in the Wedding Garden, weather permitting, or an indoor one in the Courtyard Suite. We always agree a wet weather plan with you beforehand.
Where are the best places for photos?
The Wedding Garden, the Courtyard and the gardens all work well, and garden photography access is included with the hotel packages. What if it rains, or we are marrying in winter?
We always agree a wet weather plan with you beforehand. The Courtyard Suite gives you an indoor ceremony and the Courtyard is close to the rooms, and for autumn and winter dates we plan your portraits earlier because daylight is shorter.
How much does a Millbrook Lodge wedding photographer cost?
Our collections start at £1,375 for half day coverage and go up to £2,675 for a full day with albums and an engagement session. Both of us photograph every wedding, and there is no extra travel charge for weddings within Northern Ireland. You can see exactly what is included on our pricing page.
