Celebrating Forever: Caoimhe and Marcus' Clandeboye Lodge Wedding

Caoimhe & Marcus got married on the 1st of July. The wedding ceremony took place at St. Nicholas in Carrickfergus. After the ceremony we headed off to The Clandeboye Lodge in Bangor for their wedding reception.

On the morning of the wedding, we met up with Caoimhe and her bridesmaids plus one bridesman at her home in Carrickfergus. Everyone was super excited for the day ahead and Caoimhe did a great job of keeping everything organised, so that everything ran on time.

Marcus looked a little more nervous when we met up with him at St.Nicholas but he is a very laid back sort of guy so took it all in his stride. Marcus is originally from the north of England and lots of his family and friends made the trip over to Northern Ireland for the wedding. Marcus later shed a few tears as he seen Caoimhe coming up the aisle. There was a few giggles during the ceremony when the priest announced that the guys had forgotten their paperwork and would have to sign the registrar at a later date,

After the ceremony we started to make our way to the location the guys had chosen for their bride and groom portraits but it had started to rain quite heavily as we made our way there. Just as we arrived, we got a call from Marcus to let us know that due to the heavy rain they had decided that they wanted to stay close to the venue instead. So, on arriving at the venue and after waiting out the worst of the rain, we made use of the areas close to The Clandeboye Lodge instead.

Bad weather can sometimes stress a couple on their wedding day, but the guys just made the best of it, which is the perfect way to deal with any bad weather on your wedding day! We enjoyed the bit of time we had with Caoimhe and Marcus and the rain stayed away just long enough to allow us to grab a few photos with their bridal party and their family.

Once back inside it was time for the speeches. There was barely a dry eye in the house as Marcus pulled on all the emotional heart strings during his. Everyone else did very well too.

Caoimhe and Marcus were booked into the new super deluxe suite at The Clandeboye Lodge for the night of the wedding which features a beautiful copper bath. As we were excited to see it for ourselves, we sneaked away with the guys for a few minutes for a couple of photos in the room after dinner.

Back inside it was time for the dancing. Caoimhe said a few words first about her sadly departed Dad and then asked all the dads in the room to grab their daughters and hit up the dance floor as a video of her and Dad dancing together played in the background. It was a very emotional moment for everyone there including us, This was maybe one of the most difficult moments we have ever photographed, as we have both lost our dads as well. Caoimhe and Marcus then after taking a bit of a breather then hit up the dance floor for their first dance before being joined by their family and friends.
